I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Lisa.  My thoughts and prayers go out to both you and donniesgirl as you cope with a terrible sadness.

I think your stars and pinwheels are fantastic!  I especially love the blue and orange kitty star and I seriously covet that red/green Christmasy swirl!  Now I can't wait to redceive my strings blocvks and see them all together!

kbrison--I am so glad I was not the only one that hated those bias cuts! I read a tip on how to keep the edges from ruffling but could not find it, of course, when I needed it...they were lovely and some of my favorites to look at, but not to sew...

I really hated the stars and the pinwheels...I learned that I am not a precise cutter or sewer...but the challenge was excellent and I do hope to keep on improving my skills...

I have to hold up swapping here for a while as well since I have so many quilts to put together...last count was way over 20... Grin

All photos are now in the gallery!  103 different fabrics plus solid white - only one duplicate and that's because I goofed and used the same yellow in two of kbrison's blocks.  My OCD wanted to redo the starflower to get back to NO duplicates but I resisted  Wink

This has been such a great swap with such beautiful blocks.  I've definitely been inspired to try some of the blocks others swappers chose!  I'm with you always, I'd love to see the blocks all together and what the tops will look like.

I have some project ideas in the works - a party hats oopsie is going to go with the two solid modern strings from carolmb and become a runner, two scotty blocks are going to bookend a runner with the Christmas scotty fabric I have and I'm going to start a green garden fence quilt like Enginerdlisa's with the four oopsie blocks to get it started!

This was a great swap to get me back into the quilting grrove - thanks to all my partners foor swapping!  I had a blast and I'll definitely be on the lookout for the next round  Grin

The scotty was the one I was MOST worried about but it wasn't bad at all!

I'm happy to say I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  All packages mailed out about half an hour ago   Grin

I have done more new techiques and patterns in this swap than I ever would have thought possible.  My blocks aren't perfect, but I'm really proud of them and happy wth how they turned out.  I'm uploading pictures now to finish my gallery.  Whew!  What a ride  Cheesy

Ahhh the oopsies from this swap!  There was a period of time early on when I seriously contemplated giving up and dropping out because I just could NOT get anything to come out right   Sad   I have FOUR green garden fence blocks that came out too small.  FOUR.  On straight lines, not even any triangles!  Even after I got my groove going the first party hat block came out too small and I jinxed myself on the scotties.  After the first one came out perfectly I rolled through two more only to discover... yep, too small!  My seam allowance got a bit off.  I spent part of Friday ripping and re-stitching.

I'm down to the last two and a half blocks.  I can honestly say I've learned a whole lot and I tried a bunch of brand new things.  My seam ripper has gotten quite the workout but I've had a blast and I'm really proud of the blocks I've been able to get completed! :-)
