I got nervous about how full my envelop was and put it into another, slightly heavier envelope, and then taped the edges of that one. If it burst on the conveyor belt, the result would be spectacular! Shocked

I mailed today, too. When the clerk at the post office heaved my envelope onto the scale, I heard her mutter "Oh!" Not a sign of low-postal rates. Tongue But it's on its way, SonyaBoo!

.... oooooh, yes, thinking about this one quite seriously....

Come on, Bonnie - you know you have to! Wink I've never made anything out of a tea tin - this should be a lot of fun.

I could have signed up for 2 or 3 partners, I've got so much stuff.

I know, me too! I was surprised how large a pile I'd assembled, when I finally lifted it up. I've found a larger envelope, which (just) holds it all. I think I'll have to reinforce it with half a pound of packing tape though, to make sure it holds together all the way to SonyaBoo's mailbox. I thought I might have a large Tyvek envelope tucked away somewhere, but I had to stop searching for it, because I just kept finding more stuff I wanted to include in the package. Embarrassed

Anyway, I'll put it all in the mail on Tuesday when the post office is open.

Happy New Year, everyone!

37  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Art tags/prompts swap - new year coming up - fresh inspiration?? on: December 26, 2016 02:45:07 PM
This is a great swap idea, Bonnie! I like the plan to do it in groups with each person sending out several cards/tags and receiving several in return. The postage could be quite manageable if we keep the 3D embellishment under control Embarrassed, so it would be a good one for including our antipodean friends.

So the components of the inspiration card would be (1) an image, (2) a quote or inspiring word or phrase and (3) a prompt or action suggestion springing from them. Do I have that about right?

I've been slowly gathering things to put into my boxes. I think I may have too much though!

I have the same problem. I only started actively gathering things yesterday, and I think I may already have more than I think I can fit into a package. And I still have a list of things I want to include! Maybe I can compress it somehow...

I would love to do a box of sunshine swap. I am experiencing my second winter here in Alaska. While it was a bit of a novelty last year, the 4 hours sunlight in the middle of the day has been a little tough. I think it would be fun putting a box of sunshine together and receiving one.

By early February, you should be getting maybe five hours a day? You'll still need the added boost of sunshine! I grew up just south of the Yukon border, so I know just what you mean.
