1851  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Matchbox Swap round 5, sign ups through April 6, sendouts April 30 on: March 16, 2011 05:04:11 PM
To anyone who's just looking into this thread and thinking "That looks like fun", I just want to say that the last matchbox round was the most fun swap I've been in. The stuff was great, the boxes were endlessly inventive, and the gallery just went on for weeks and weeks and weeks. Sheer joy. DO NOT PASS THIS UP!

Sending in my PM immediately.

Love the painting of crocuses. So spring-like!

Wow, Monnie! You've outdone yourself, which is really saying something! Your packages are always so well thought out and so jam-packed. I don't know how you find the time.

And I love the crochet-covered egg that Impchild sent. Pretty, clever and sort-of-practical. Cheesy

Good to know about the poly clay for tiny skeletons. That was sort of the direction I was heading anyway. I'm going to make one more try of some suitable shops on the weekend before giving up and going it alone.

And Knickertwist, I went to at least one of those pirate festivals, and I totally missed the fairy fossils. Surely I would've remembered that?

Wow! What a resource! Thanks for that, BP.

I've started on one idea and have gotten sidetracked by another. I like them both, so I have to decide.

Crafting and cocktails go together like long hair and drain cleaner.

Oh, that's gotta  be worth some Crafter swag the next time they're looking for new catch-phrases!

This talk of gnome skeletons immediately made me think of fairy skeletons, which would be a wonderful thing to do. Just imagine long hands and feet, delicate bird-like bones, and wings of course. Knickertwist, this seems like your kind of thing; you want to take that and fly with it?

By the way, I've just used Racky's method for covering the tin with paper, and it works beautifully. Thanks for that! Kiss

The Canada Post tracking report for my package says "Accepted at post office, 03/11/11". I know that, I was there! But what's happened to it in the three days since then?

I think you should add "Random Ookyness" to that t-shirt, as it so perfectly sums up your own unique style! I am, of course, awestruck.

Suereal, I looked at your first two photos of the box and thought "What's going on here? This is almost charming. Where are the eyeballs? the yeti feet? the removable brains?" Then I scrolled down and felt so relieved. The suereal world is exactly as we last left it. Brilliant, eye-popping and, of course, glow-in-the-dark!

On the home front, my search for tiny skeletons has proved fruitless so far. I may have to make them from scratch. Sad Proceeding on with the rest of it in the meantime.)

Uh, Calluna, I think you're supposed to set it on fire before you apply fabric to it. But it sounds like the result wasn't as destructive as it could've been!
