I've just had one of those horrible moments where you realize the big exam is today and you haven't studied at all. Shocked For a couple of weeks I've been working steadily and happily on my project for Quasior, and I just now realized send-out is four days off and there's no way I could finish this even if I worked on it every waking moment between now and Saturday! Sudden change of plans!

Needle-felting to hold pieces together is brilliant, Nooo. Now it seems obvious - it IS called "felt" after all - but I would never have thought of it!

Love the VW bus a lot!

bought some felt with the new etsy app for my android.... that will be dangerous.

There's an Etsy app? THIS is why I don't dare get a smart phone!

Here's a great set of scouting-type badges (my favourite kind). Be warned that most are rather PG in nature.

Still waiting on my felt. Angry But the upside is that I get to see some of what other people are doing before I even get started!

Yay Monnie! I don't know how you do so much so fast!

Sorry to hear about the bike, Impchild. Do you do any sort of divination (tarot, runes, etc.)? It might be useful to do a reading to ask why you've been the victim of theft so many times recently.

Tell Dante I'm bug-eyed with envy at his shark's tooth necklace. It is beyond cool. And Aengus's painting is really good!

A "Start me on my path" WWP swap is a great idea, although as Monnie points out, there's an element of that in almost every WWP swap. It could pair up experienced Pagans/Witches with newbies. Maybe this is something that needs to be suggested in the New Swap Ideas board, since it would have to attract a fair number of first-time WWP swappers to work.

OMG, there really are reindeer herders in Mongolia! I'm sorry, Mellisa, that I was so smugly dismissive about it! (Of course when I asked my partner Ian if he knew there were reindeer in Mongolia, he said "Oh yeah, I have both Touvan and Mongolian stamps showing reindeer." I should have known to check with him first!) A cultural exchange with Mongolian reindeer herders sounds wonderful. Who do they come and live with here, I wonder. Mall rats?

Glad to hear you got through your surgery with nothing worse than sore eyes, Phizzy. And both together, that must be miserable. Our brightest thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm roaring ahead on my project for Quasior, and I'm quite excited about it, though I have an awful feeling it's going to take much longer than I'd imagined in the beginning. That's why it's called "imagination" - it doesn't have to take reality into consideration! Ironically, it all started when I picked up some back issues of an Australian embroidery magazine a few weeks ago. Of course it spawned something quite different, but I wouldn't have thought of it otherwise.

I'm waiting for my felt order too. I tried a practice badge with my old acrylic felt this weekend and was less than happy with the results. I have great hopes that my Giant Dwarf felt will perform better.

I'm not sure what our mailing options within Canada are. I think the cheapest parcel rate would still be $7 or $8, but it may be possible to get delivery confirmation for a letter without sending XpressPost, which is about $12. I'll ask at my local post office the next time I'm going by.

So that's where your ideas come from. I knew it had to be something like that!

Okay, I don't think I've had enoug caffeine this morning, but I can't ignore it any further.... Our lovely Goddess picture for this swap..... Doesn't she look A LOT like the lady from 3rd rock from the sun??? Okay, grabbing more caffeine! Lol

At first I thought you'd probably had too much caffeine, but then I went and looked and... well, I see what you mean.  And I love the Wiccan Alphabet!

It's mostly sheep and horses in Mongolia, Melissaurus -- for reindeer herding you need to go west to Lapland, but I think the Lapps do live in some sort of felt tent too. You could include Touva and Kazakhstan and do a World Yurt Tour!

Unfortunately I can't find my old boots. I have a vague, half-suppressed memory of finally throwing them out a couple years ago. Sad So I'll have to keep an eye out for a new/old pair. Or even just one - a perfect use for a single found boot!

Icekibby, although just thinking about a fairy bar makes my head spin a little, you're going to have to explain what a "fairy rath" is. (Now I'm thinking about tiny fairy draft beer taps. What would the brands be? Hobgoblin Ale is an obvious one. phmre would be popular. I'm sure there are more.)

And a troll bar in an old hunting boot - what could be better!
