1651  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: WWP Yule Swap Round 24 (SU 11-5 to 11-15, SO 12-13-10) on: November 14, 2010 08:14:12 AM
Confuzzle, the swap is officially open til tomorrow, and the last I checked, there was still one space open. And since it looks like you got your feedback posted on your first swap (congratulations!), I can't see a thing stopping you. Get that questionnaire in to hawkeyes_girl ASAP!

And welcome to the wonderful world of WWP!

Angie, glad you'll be able to make it, and Amanda, I hope you're feeling better. Maybe by mid-afternoon a nice cup of something hot would be just the thing!

See you there!

Okay, so as a default, if nobody has a better suggestion, shall we say Kubata (962 College, 4 blocks w. of Ossington) about 3 pm?

I'll have to agree with everyone else about the fabric feathers. I'm not sure you realize how brilliant they are! I've been working in theatre production for 25 years and I've seen any as good. The whole costume is fabulous - I hope you got top marks for it!

Okay, here's another question (actually craft-related, which is unusual Wink) for the group: I'm thinking I'd like to fold my stocking out of a flat cloth, sort of like the baby shower gifts that people make out of folded and stacked diapers. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Or do I have to do the work and make it up myself?

I'm good for the day and the date, but I can't come early afternoon.

Late afternoon/early evening would be fine for me. Even as late as 8. The last two times we've met up it's been afternoon, but there's no reason why that should be a requirement. Unless it is for some people.

Kubata would be fine for me again.

I love the fact that the swap organizer no longer gets to say when sign-ups begin. "We signs up when we wants to sign up. Youse got a problem wit dat?" Cheesy This may be the first swap to reach capacity before sign-ups open! I sometimes wonder if any other corners of Craftster are anything like our little WWP World.

I think I'm going to sit out this card swap. It looks like there will be no problem reaching 13, so I'll concentrate on my Yule Swap package. Besides, I already make about 80 Yule cards a year, so the last thing I need is to add another dozen!

Yes, the spider is spectacularly cool. I love the fact that she has the right number of eyes. I know that's very geeky, but it's something that's almost always wrong. Spiders don't have two eyes like you and me!

The random bouts of OT-that-belongs-in-a-different-thread-entirely are hard to keep track of!
Cheesy Yeah, sorry 'bout that! I guess we've been sharing these WWP swaps long enough that we can just veer off into an entirely different swap discussion without anyone noticing! It's good to have someone from "outside" to remind us to follow the rules.

And Pixiefirefly! You're always welcome! I don't think you have to be a Pagan to celebrate Yule. To me the Winter Solstice is a sort of cross-religious holiday, as major religious festivals of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and many European Pagan religions all occur right around that time. At the very least, it's a way to celebrate Christmas with a minimum of commercial intrusions!

I'd make some peppermint bark and put that in my cards but I'm afraid it'd get busted in the mail, esp to anyone outside the US Sad
I read this and thought "Is peppermint bark illegal in Wisconsin?" Then I realized you didn't mean Cheech & Chong busted, you meant broken busted. Cheesy Shows where my mind is at, I guess!

I like the idea of either a recipe, tea or incense inclusion. But the ingredients for incense (or interesting teas) might be hard for people in more isolated places (eastern Qubec, for example) to acquire. But anyone can copy out a recipe.
