61  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: These are not the tea towels you are looking for. on: October 11, 2009 01:00:27 PM

I agree completely. It turned out awesome!

I hope we get to see Boba Fett soon!

I discovered bleach pens shortly before completing Boba Fett, so it came out MUCH neater, although not as bright.

I kind of like the effect of the bleeding. It looks like tie-dye! And I really like the tea towel embroideries. The designs are pretty and elegant, and your stitches look very neat.  Smiley
Thanks. I'm happy with how it ended up, but I'm a little bummed you can't see the roses very well. I used two different colors to embroider them, but now you can barely notice the stiches, let alone the different colors.

I really really love the colors you used for the heart tea towel.

Woohoo! I can finally post pictures!

I made this a while ago for a friend of mine. I had never heard about crayon tinting, so I tried to use markers for this. Let me just say I am SO happy to discover an easier method, because I think I used an entire bottle of Shout to try to combat the bleeding. It drove me absolutely INSANE while I was making it,  but I'm pretty happy with the end result. Let me know what you think.

I also made him a Boba Fett one, too, but I didn't get a good picture of it before I mailed it out. He said he'd scan it in for me sometime, but who knows when that will be!

Also, a couple tea towels, my first projects.

They look so great! I think the candy corn is my favorite.  Smiley

I am a Chemistry major and i love this!  It can be a harsh mistress espically for those who don't love it.

I am seriously considering changing my major to something that involves absolutely NO chemistry after this semester! I've thought about dropping the class, but if I do that I'd have nothing else in my life to make me feel completely miserable.

they're so adorable! I have never heard about crayon tinting, I'll have to check it out.

yeah, I noticed that when I started doing the bunsen burner, but I really couldn't be bothered by it at that point because I just wanted to finish so I could try to study (which, apparently, consists mainly of messing around on the internet and trying to figure out what music to play and very little actual reading.)
