I made a waistcoat for my baby:

And this shrug for me  Grin

Both made from patterns I wrote myself!  Cheesy

2  Baby's cardigan IMG HEAVY in Knitting: Completed Projects by Minimummy on: June 14, 2010 11:37:06 AM
So I'm eagerly awaiting the birth of little girl number four, she's due on Saturday. I've made this cardigan for her but I'm not sure I like the colours. The pink seems rather more garish than it did when I bought it. What do you guys think?

C & C welcomed, thanks for looking!

3  Chunky knit Cardigan in Knitting: Completed Projects by Minimummy on: June 14, 2010 11:24:32 AM
I absolutely love chunky knit garments. Talk about speeding up the process of getting to the "feeling smug about yourself" part. They grow so quickly!

I know it's coming up to summer but my little girl needed something to give her that bit of extra warmth on the cooler days, so I made her this:

The only thing I was disappointed about was that the wool was so chunky you couldn't really make out the beautiful cable pattern.
Either way she absolutely LOVES it and won't take it off!

Comments and criticism are very welcome, and thanks for looking!

4  Re: What kind of top should I make with this fabric? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Minimummy on: June 14, 2010 05:42:09 AM
I would make one like this:

Possibly removing the middle part and crossing over the two sides at the bust iykwim. Also, less gathers would be nice so you could have a broad bias bind at the bottom.

5  A few projects I finished recently... in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Minimummy on: June 14, 2010 05:30:31 AM
So here's a few projects I finished recently. I've been away from the forum for what feels like forever! And have only recently been presented with a nice new Brother sewing machine  Grin My baby! It hasn't had a day off since it came home...

The dress and leg warmers are my own original designs, the rest are patterns I grabbed from various places. I have to admit my favourite so far is the chunky knit cardigan for my Lucie. She looks so adorable in it!

6  My first dress :) in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Minimummy on: October 06, 2009 11:13:12 AM
Hi all! Well I thought I'd share my first dress with you guys! I made it for my little girl and even though it's a pillowcase dress it took a good couple of hours to make because I sewed it all by hand. (I don't have a machine)  Sad

It's not fantastic but I was impressed for my first attempt Cheesy

Anyways here are the pics...

I apologise for my daughters face! She's covered in Ratatouille!
As you can see it's not that great :S I used ribbons instead of elastic as I wanted that tunic kind of feel rather than adding straps. The I appliqud some hearts on there to spice it up a bit hahaha
Oh and the ribbon keeps threading?! It's falling apart! Is it candle wax you use to seal it? Not sure :S

C & C appreciated please!
