[April 28th through May 4th]

The theme for the new challenge on Purses, Wallets and Bags is 'Showcase Your Craft!'  In other words, make a bag, then showcase what you're especially good at - embroidery, quilting, papercrafts, etc. - somewhere in the bag.  How you interpret this is up to you, but you may only have one entry, though that entry can have multiple parts.  Please give your entry a unique and descriptive title so we can remember which is which when it comes time to vote!


Here are the details for the challenge:

During the week of April 28th through May 4th (until 11:59 pm, Eastern) you can post pictures of your entry. As it's impossible to know if your entry is 100% original, if you're inspired by someone else's project, please give that person a shout out!

Voting will open on May 5th and run for one week.  Voting will take place right here and the first place winner (US or non-US) will get something really cool that is TBD.   a really cool Craftster t-shirt!

Well, I didn't use this as a scrapbook page, but it's the first thing that I've HAD to make in ages because I got bit by the crafting bug.  Any suggestions would be welcome! Also, sorry for the crappy picture.  I need a camera and not my phone.

The background is a neutral tannish brown with tone-on-tone stamping of leaves.  The word tree I made at tagxedo.com and printed on cardstock.  I cut it out and then cut out the dark teal "frame" to match.  The red words say "Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness" and I stamped it on cardstock and then made a frame for that, too.  The picture is one my grandfather gave me at Christmas - it's been well-loved, obviously, but I thought it was even cooler that way, honestly.  I added the heart for a pop of red, which is also why I added the ribbon.  The real/turquoise theme matches my craft area, so it's being displayed there.




Concrit welcome!

Are you considering making a purse?  Are you part way through and lost your oomph?  Have you chosen fabric, but can't decide on a pattern?  Have you never thought about making your own purses, but are intrigued by the idea?  Then this craftalong is for you!

There aren't any hard and fast rules for this craftalong, beyond the fact that you should make a purse and share in-progress pics with us along the way.  From Amy Butler patterns to the Buttercup bag to clutches, any type is allowed!  

Join anytime!  I'll keep a list of participants and status (in progress, finished, etc.) on this page!

So who's in?  

Well, it seems poor Lo{ve} didn't get one package she was claimed for in the ongoing holiday wish list swap.  For those unfamiliar, participants list items they'd like to receive for those on their holiday gift lists.  Claimed items should equal a 'medium.'  The item should also be sent out within two weeks of the claim, especially since she's waited so long!  While the holidays are over (and have been), I'm sure Lo{ve} can find another time to give the item she receives.  Lo lives in California, USA.
