I make bread occasionally (I'm not really a bread person, I've discovered), but when I do, I either make beer bread (so easy and so yummy) or the 'Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day' bread.  I need to reread that book, but next time I'm making some, I'll put 3/4 of the dough in the freezer - I ended up giving much of it away because I couldn't eat it quickly enough!  Regardless, it's a good book, if anyone can get it at their library.

And to whomever was having lentil soup for dinner - I had it too!  (Well, lentils and barley and garbanzo beans and veggies - yum!)

I haven't started crafting yet, but I've got lots of ideas for things to make!

Roxsun - go you for getting a deal!  I did the same thing about a year ago - I called each of my utilities and let them know that their service was too expensive and I was thinking of switching to someone else.  Let me tell you, I lowered my bills by $75 (total, not each, unfortunately) in a matter of two hours.  Smiley

And today I have been quite frugal - I made soup for dinner (using the barley that's been on my shelf for ages, lentils, and the rest of the beans I cooked last week), made my mom a draft dodger, ordered the soap for making my laundry detergent, and joined paperbackswap.com where I've ordered two books and have two going out in the mail tomorrow.  Woot!  Of course, my list of books I want to order far exceeds what I've posted, so I've got to dig through my collection and figure out what else I can bear to part with!

Oh - and still no tv.  I watched an episode of Bones on Hulu with my dinner and it was so easy.  And a bonus - Hulu has HGTV shows and Food Network!  Squee!

I also made my last small for Craftrica today!  I'm still working on the medium!

I'm 95% finished with my medium/2 points! and then tomorrow I'll finish my small (everything's all cut out, just need to put it together!).  The medium sort of came out of nowhere - I was planning something else, but I saw this and the lightbulb went off.  I really like how it's turning out!

Okay ladies, so I'm heading off to bed, but I thought I'd give you a mini-update about Life Without Television (known from now on as LWOT).

I haven't turned it on all day!  I've read, I've crafted, I've poked around online, I've cleaned (gasp), but no television.  So far, so good!

I just did part of my medium (which is venturing into largish territory, I think).  And I need a LOT more ____, so I'll have to go to Michael's for it.  Now I need to find a coupon to use.  I didn't want to buy anything else (I bought a smidgen of fabric - 1/4 yard), but I really like how the first of the ____ turned out, so I need to make the rest!

And woo hoo, irish_chicky, on finding the washing soda!  I need to get my bars of soap (still debating whether ordering them online and paying shipping is a good thing and if not, what to use as an alternative ... I could follow cjclark's lead and grate up some Ivory ...)

Thanks for compiling a resource list. I haven't checked, but is there any chance you could put a link to the message in the first post of the thread? Then we don't have to try to find it when there are another 120 pages of chatter!

Smiley A link is on the first page, right below the link to the The List o' Frugality.
