3611  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / WIP Wednesday - 7/7 Post your knitting WIPs here! on: July 07, 2010 03:33:32 PM
Okay, lapoli has graciously let me start the thread for this week. Cheesy  I totally dropped the ball last week and didn't post my WIP, so I'm all excited to do it this week!  (We won't get into the gray wrap that I'm STILL working on ... ah well.)

So I'm giving my grandfather a pair of hand-knit socks for Christmas.  Knowing how slow I am to get things done, I started last week.  (I hope the fact that I'm making them for someone other than me will get me to finish them a bit more quickly!) This is my first pair of socks and I'm somewhat dreading the next step (eep, the heel flap!)

Anyway, I've got the cuffs done and a few rows of the leg.  They don't look like much yet, but I'm terribly happy with how they're turning out!  I got the yarn at the MD Sheep and Wool Festival and it's lovely.  I've decided to knit them row by row, two at a time because I see the future where I've got one done and have to do the second and am unenthused by the prospect. Cheesy

So what are you all working on?

I hope my claimee has a camera because I totally forgot to take pictures. Sad  Boo hiss.  I blame the 100 degree heat (seriously, I live on the East Coast, that's ridiculous) and my headache!

Now on to claim #2. Cheesy

So exciting to see that number next to your name of gifts you're getting! I'm sitting here with butterflies playing the "what is it?" game. Needed supplies? A wisty surprise? Something off my list? Something someone is inspired to make for me? I'm so excited! Oh my goodness, then I have to let the packages sit there until unwrapping day?? Oh the excitement! I'm definately promising to wait, it'll be just like Christmas!

I'm with you!  It's so exciting. Cheesy  And I won't open until Unwrapping Day ... but I might try to use my X-Ray vision on it.  Maybe it'll work better in July than it does in December!
