I'd love to participate a needer.  My fabric stash is getting low and my budget is tight!

Re: Craigs List.  You might not get an answer the first time you put it on Craigs List, but try again in a week or so.  I put an new ad on last nite, and had a response already.  Sometimes someone may offer to sell you a bag of fabric for like $5 which can be a good deal too.  My first ad was answered by a lady who mailed me a box full of fabric.   She is a professional dressmaker, and such a nice lady.  If this intimidates you, look for fabric at yard sales.  Lots of people buy with the intention of making SOMETHING and never get around to it, so when they have a garage sale they put fabric, patter ns, paints, notions, batting and fiberfill,  etc out and you can get them real cheap.  Also try smaller thrift stores.

Just today, I went to a yard sale, to "look".  I had exactly $1 in my wallet and wasn't going to get more.  I found a box of fabric and in it, a mostly finished dress.  I got it for a $1-  there's at least one yard of fabric (even though it's sewn), several pins and a zipper that I already know I'll use when I remake a dress I have into a skirt.  Not too shabby!

I love my cloth pads and could always use more.  They're addictive!  I might be up for this, depending on timing.

3596  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: How My Garden Grows Swap (sign ups CLOSED) Sendout by May 8 on: April 10, 2010 08:53:47 AM
Oooh!  I need to craft today ... then again, I also need to clean.  :-|  I'm going back to work on Monday after Spring Break so I think cleaning may take precedence (booo), but I should have time to do the one thing I have in mind that requires my sewing machine. Cheesy  I might even begin the small.  Still figuring out how I want to do the other medium.  It's all compiled, but I need to decide how I want to put it all together.  I'm a bit nervous about this new craft I may do.

I wish I could craft outside, but my garden is on my teensy porch, and there's not enough room out there for the containers and me, really.  My beans are all coming up, though, and my tomato plant has a flower!  We'll see how that goes.  Everything except the eggplant has sprouted - now I just need to make sure to bring it all in when it gets chilly at night!
