3491  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Frugal Living 3: HaveYourselfAFrugalLittleHoliday SU Sept. 7-28, Send by Nov. 12 on: September 15, 2010 07:13:15 AM
I'm getting so excited about this swap!  We've got a great, eclectic (in a GOOD way) bunch of international swappers!  Cheesy

If you are from or know anyone from Europe, please encourage them to participate!  We have three swappers on the east side of the Atlantic and Troublet and I would love to even out those numbers.  Cheesy

I was planning a swapping hiatus..............

Mwa ha ha ha!  *Draws you into our frugal web*

3493  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Stocking stuffers 2010 on: September 12, 2010 06:39:23 PM
MsMia - what a great idea for the four gifts! Cheesy

Okay my stocking stuffer contributions ...

earrings/bracelets
"travel" items (i.e. - small toothpaste, small deodorant, etc. - always useful!)
scarf
nice (crafted!) picture frames w/ sentimental pictures
fun soaps
homemade bbq/spice rubs
ornaments
small embroideries

and what about making the stocking itself?

I tried to talk myself out of this ... but the send outs are later and I really wanted to ... soooooooo ... I did!  Anyway I can't wait to get my partner.  I tried the sewn swiffer cover that is in one of the lists at the beginning and it works out perfect!  I used my oldest daughter's favorite old purple towel.  She is in the Navy now and it has had bleach and paint all over it - it was fair game.   Grin

Susan

We're so glad you joined us!

Ignorant neophyte here! I'm attempting a "wist." There's LOADS of stuff I'm luvin' on etsy, ArtFire, TrendyIndie, CosaVerde, etc. etc. etc. I could get really greedy, enough so as to make things easier (or more difficult!) for my swap-partner-to-be.

So, any tips from all you wist-pros, please?

I agree with cinnamon teal - tagging is a great feature!  I also like a little comment about what I liked about it in the comments section.  If I like it for my mom or someone else, I'll note that there, too.  Smiley

Welcome to everyone who's joined the swap recently!  Smiley  I have added everyone I have questionnaires for.  Please check your feedback chart thingy and make sure the swap is listed! (I try to check everyone's, but I'm sure I've forgotten something!)

I'm so happy to see so many familiar "faces" from the previous two swaps and totally psyched that there are so many new "faces" joining in!  Woo hoo.

We've got quite the international contingent, too - we have swappers from the USA, Canada, Australia and Great Britain!  Our Brit, at the moment, doesn't have anyone in her country/near her country to send to, so if you are a Brit or European who wants to join, don't hesitate! It's a lot of fun and we've got an awesome group!

Maybe in the future though Kaz? you could be the first one in the field  Wink

On a Frugal note, Amazon.com are offering free prime shipping for a year to students, I guess this is US only but what a great time to do it with gift giving around the corner. It's from the frugal life blog again.

Ha yes!  I'll be a pioneer in the field.  It'll be awesome.

And what a great deal - makes me (almost) wish I was a student again.

On a swappy note - if you need to elaborate on your questionnaires (and if I've asked you a few questions, it'd be great to do!) please resend the entire questionnaire.  I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to make sure that I pair you appropriately, which is hard when there's not a lot of information about what you'd like to get, etc.  THANK YOU!

I'm on the list! *dance dance dance* My very firstest ever  Grin swap, and I'm looking forward to it HUGELY. I always try to make as many holiday gifts as possible anyway, and friends and family are FINALLY starting to reciprocate, as they start to equate "homemade" or "handcrafted" with "creative" and "personal" rather than "cheapskate" (especially considering what THEIR MasterCard bill looks like in January!).

Welcome to the swap, suzeqz!  Cheesy  Swapping is addictive, though, so be warned!

OoOH this has come round quicker than I expected, phew, would not want to miss out on this.

P.s http://www.frugallifeproject.com (Great blog, sign up for the emails for discounts/great prices on stuff on the web and most importantly she's crafty too, check out her organisation of ribbons in her latest post)

Kaz, you didn't let me down with the Super secret tag line, and even pimped out a Classic Christmas Carol too, is there nothing you can't do?!  Wink

Ha ha.  I will add the link tomorrow am - woot.  And yaaaay for not missing the swap, mink_bikini!

It's a pity I can't market myself as a swap namer and pimper of Christmas Carols ... though I bet there's not a lot of money in that, alas.

3500  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 6 on: September 08, 2010 06:02:15 PM
I am really tight on budget but think I can do a small, but pairing me will be difficult as I have started smoking again and have three cats. I love to do crafty things though and really want to make a stocking for a partners taste.

If anything has fabric, I can assure it will be prewashed and put away when not crafting. Actually thinking of moving some of the craft room upstairs, my entire house is a craft room.  I hope someone will want me.

I would love to be partnered with you, lovesclutter!  Sending in my questionnaire tonight!
