In the recent Crazy for Christmas challenge, my wonderlous partner, pixieval, had a couple wreaths on her wists. On one, she noted that she liked the colors because she could use it past Christmas and into spring. Going off that, I got the idea to make a wreath where the colors can be switched out.
I took a white styrofoam(ish) wreath frame (is that the right word? I want to say mold and that's not it!) and wrapped twill tape around it. Since they only had bright white tape, I dyed it using tea and threw it in the dryer so it'd be pliable and easy to use. I thought I was getting too much when I asked for 7 yards, but I had to angle it so it overlapped a lot so there wasn't bunchy places sticking out, so I used all but a few feet!
Enter one chipboard flower to use for tracing, every color felt known to Joann's fabric, some corsage pins with pretty "pearl" heads, some of my favorite buttons, and different color ribbon and I came up with this:
and with some of the extras:
And because I was too exited to send to take more than one picture, pixieval is letting me use the ones she took!
The extras (you can see the buttons!) - all different colors of felt flowers, ribbons and buttons so you can make it fit with any decor/season/holiday!
and with some of the flowers interchanged:
I plan on making one for my mom for Christmas, perhaps with poinsettia leaves or maybe just with the same 'daisy' flower. It was easy to do and the only time-consuming part was cutting out the flowers (which I did while I watched tv!)
