That is too cute!  I love the use of the markers, too!

I have to give this some serious thought.  I believe in frugal living, but I don't know if what I make is right for this.

Heck, I'd be your partner in this, pinokeeo! I could use one of your pine needle baskets to gather the tiny wild strawberries that grow in my backyard! Or how about some wood burned veggie markers? Or a beautiful bowl to make salads from the garden? A box to hold all the cloth napkins I plan on making and swapping for next year? Okay, so all those things would be, like, extra larges, but I would totally spoil you in return!

Yes, pinokeeo - come join!  Just by virtue of your things being reusable, they're frugal. Cheesy  (And gorgeous!)  One of your baskets would rock for gathering garden veggies or going to a farmer's market!  There's also signs encouraging frugality/reminders, maybe a burned recipe box or coupon holder, a box to hold laundry soap and other necessities like dryer balls and sachets (all homemade of course!), etc.!

What is a soap saver?
I may be resubmitting my questionaire to you kaz814 now that I've seen all your great ideas!

A soapsaver is a knit or crocheted bag to hold the soap in - that way you can use less of the soap (for those who dislike washcloths it's built right in so more suds and less soap being used) and use it until it's all gone.  The slivers of soap always get lost or broken and I end up tossing them as too much of a hassle.

Stockpiling in the pantry is a great way to save money - provided you stockpile when the items are on sale (and non-perishable, of course!)  Of course, I live in a teensy condo, so there's no much room to stockpile, unfortunately, but I do have enough beans to keep me for YEARS (perhaps that just means I need more recipes for beans!).

Have you all heard of down---to---earth?  It's the blog of a woman in Australia who is all about living simply and frugally.  She's got some awesome ideas about budgeting, etc.  It's one of my favorite blogs, and it's where I got some of the ideas for the list.  Smiley  She's also a big proponent of stockpiling, makes her own cleaning supplies, and knits up a storm!

Oh and if anyone wants to have an addendum to their questionnaire, feel free to send it in!  Smiley

Some more ideas of what people can craft for the frugal household/crafter ...

Kitchen Frugality
- reusable lunch bag, sandwich wrap, snack bag  (Possible off-gassing using PUL/vinyl - please discuss with your partner if you want to make that/have a problem with it!)
- tea towels/dishtowels
- dishcloths
- pantry inventory (so you don't overbuy or worse, let something go to waste in the bottom of the fridge because you forgot you have it)
- cloth napkins
- tea cozy (irony optional)
- drying rack for plastic bags
- beaded napkin rings (or other type of napkin ring)
- Frugal getting started kit
- utensil roll for lunchboxes (no more disposables or losing good flatware)
- reusable tea bags for loose tea (made out of a fine mesh)
- jug/jar covers
- reusable bowl covers
- reusable "paper" towels
- tea wallet

The Frugal Home
- reusable swiffer socks  (a sewn swiffer cover tutorial and a crocheted swiffer cover pattern)
- homemade laundry soap
- wool dryer balls
- dryer sachets
- a book of tips for the frugal crafter/homeowner
- DIY Home Repair kit (hammer, screwdriver ... misc. tools, plus instructions on how to do simple home repairs)
- homemade cleaning products (or recipes for such with bottles to put them in, since the Postal Service frowns on sending most liquids ...)
- magnets/wall stuff to remind you to do things (turn off lights, unplug unused appliances, adjust thermostat when you won't be there, water your garden)
- Frugal getting started kit
- draft dodgers to go at doors/windows to keep out the drafts
- Sock Rug
- clothespin bag

Frugal Gardens
- gardening supplies - gardening bag, crop/plant markers, watering can, basket to collect the veggies, etc. (growing is cheaper than buying once you've gotten started!)
- planting planners
- seeds/containers
- Getting started kit
- veggie/herb kit for indoor gardening

Frugal Gourmet
- recipes (homemade bread is economical AND tasty!  Also non-meat meals cost less, too ... including ideas for leftovers, might be fun too.)
- mixes (for dip, bread, cookies, etc.)
- coupon holder
- home-preserved jams, jellies, etc.
- book to plan menus (which will help eliminate eating out)
- grocery list organizer to go along with the menu planning
- reusable grocery/other use bags
- reusable vegetable bags
- price comparison notebook (if you keep track of how much a can of tomatoes is at Store A and Store B, you'll know who has better deals - and if the "sales" are really worth it!)
- calculator cozy (for taking to the grocery store to keep track of your purchases!)
- Frugal getting started kit

Being Craftily Frugal
- crafting inventory (to prevent duplicate purchases)
- reclaimed yarn/fabric (how to reclaim yarn from a sweater)
- repurposed clothing
- supplies (if the sender won't use it and the receiver will - it'll be good for all!)

Warm and Frugal Ideas (to save on heating bills)
- socks/slippers to keep warm in the winter
- gloves/wrist warmers to keep warm in the winter
- lap quilt
- microwavable rice/corn heating bag to keep tootsies warm in bed
- draft dodger
- rag rug

Cool and Frugal Ideas (to save on A/C bills)
- cool pack to put in the fridge/freezer
- homemade hand fans
- fun hair ties/headbands
- re-conned shirts into tank tops

Personally Frugal
- washcloths
- cloth menstrual pads/menstrual cup bag/wet bags
- cloth diapers/cloth baby wipes
- soap saver
- reusable water bottle/carrier
- handmade soap/bath salts (possibly with recipes)
- DIY first aid kit (gauze, bandages, eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, etc.)
- small rice/corn packs for icing/warming eyes/head
- yoga mat
- dumbbells of some sort (filled with sand, perhaps?)
- reusable makeup remover pads
- embroidered cloth handkerchiefs
- handmade face scrub/astringent
- homemade cough drops

Frugal gift giving
- handmade birthday cards
- handmade holiday cards
- handmade other occasion cards
- newspaper gift bags
- personalized note cards/stationery
- handcrafted stamps to make personalized note cards/stationery
- fabric gift bags
- stamped wrapping paper (brown paper would work well)
- handmade gift boxes (small ones are great made out of old holiday cards)
- blank gift tags
- DIY gift-giving kit (reusable fabric gift bags, blank notecards, blank gift tags, etc.)
- A pocket calender to keep track of birthdays and useful for being able to plan and post early would save on postage
- Kit for making cards for all occasions
- Gift giving notebook for ideas, if we get ideas to make something then hopefully that will save us a few bucks and reduce the chances of impulse buying at the last minute.

Budgeting
- checkbook cover (perhaps if it's pretty, it'll be easier to keep track of spending?)
- journal/book to keep a budget in
- piggy bank
- coin purse

What else?  I'd be happy to edit this list as ideas come in!

Details of swap:

This swap is all about living (and crafting!) frugally.  Frugal living means something different to each person, but it may include saving money by using cloth napkins, knit/crocheted dishcloths, reusable shopping bags (you say 5 cents for each bag you bring in at my grocery store!), wool dryer balls (seriously, the dryer sheets can be pricey!), reusable menstrual pads or diva cup/moon cup bag and wet bags, soap savers, homemade laundry soap, homemade bath soaks, etc.  Or it may include recipes to try out instead of eating out, a piggy bank/other way of corralling change to take to the bank instead of letting it be eaten by the couch, having a coupon organizer ... the ideas are endless!

For this swap, 95% of what you'll use to craft should be from your stash.  The more you use that you already have, the better!  If you absolutely must purchase something, it'd be great if you could get it at the Salvation Army/Goodwill/thrift stores or on sale.  (I don't want to say don't buy anything because I know how it feels to have everything you need except one little thing for a project.)

I'll do my best to pair people by country, so participants can take advantage of flat rate shipping, if available.  (If you'd be willing to send out of your country, that'd be great, in case of uneven numbers.)

The requirements for this swap is 5 points, which will translate to one medium and three smalls.  If you want to do more, please talk to your partner! (Remember, this is all about frugality!)  Please note that checking in on the swap thread at least once a week is highly encouraged so we know you're still around and crafting!  Communicating with your partner is also a necessity.  If you know you can't post pictures, please ask your partner to take pictures for you!  Also, if you have consistent and recent dings on feedback for poor communication or sending late, I may not approve your application.

For those who need a refresher, here's the Craftster guide to what constitutes each size (please note that a large is NOT required for this swap - that part is just for your information!):

-Large = 3 or more hours
-Medium = 2 or more hours
