3291  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Hearty Chicken Noodle Super Soup on: December 28, 2010 06:12:48 PM
This looks great!  I am a soup addict lately and will have to make myself some more soon.
3292  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Embroidered Purse from an Embroidered Skirt on: December 28, 2010 06:10:47 PM
For the current Friends of Craftster Raffle swap (come join!), I made a purse out of a skirt that I was going to donate.  The requirements were to upcycle something into something else.  I reused the outer skirt, the lining, and the tie.  The only thing I used that was new was the interfacing and thread. Cheesy  No pattern, just cut and went with what was in my head.

After:

The tie was on the skirt as well, as a belt-like thing and I thought it was perfect to close the purse with.

Woo hoo!  I'm in. Cheesy  I hope what I made is up to snuff!

So here's my offering ... a medium-sized black purse with a tie close.  There are also seed beads decorating the embroidery.

Okay, I spent the last couple hours sewing and I have my item (a purse), my info is sent in ... WOOT.  I will post a pic once I'm approved. Cheesy

Alright, in cleaning out my closet (it's been on my 'to do' list for three years now), I found an old skirt I was going to donate.  However, it would make a great purse.  Only thing is ... can I use new interfacing?  As far my mental plans go, that'd be the only 'new' thing - the lining and such would also be from the skirt.

3296  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: January Birthday Babies! on: December 28, 2010 08:05:53 AM
I really want to try a swap for the first time, but I really don't know what to do.  My birthday is January 20th.  How can I be a part of this?  It sounds like so much fun!

Hi nazarets!  On the 1st, I will be posting in the 'Craft Swaps' board with information about how to join and what the requirements of the swap are.  Basically, you just need to send in a questionnaire to me and Troublet and we'll add you.  Then you pick something off a list to make for someone else. Smiley  I hope this helps!

Oooh, hmm.  This is tempting!  I need to figure out what I could make.  I've got a wool sweater that could be fulled and cut up into something ... need to figure out what!
