Hi all! I'm a fairly new sewer (I've made a quilt, duvet cover, a few easy gathered skirts with knit waistbands, and some other random things!). I recently came across the infinity dress tutorial, ran out and bought some cheap fabric (cotton knit) and quickly made one up! LOVE IT.

I'm Maid of Honor in a wedding this fall, and am helping the bride pick out the maids' dresses. She actually really likes the infinity dress (which is hysterical, because out of the 5 million dresses she's had me try on, it's the only one she likes...). I really think I could make these very easily for the four of us.

My questions are:

1.) Would you recommend matte jersey, or will it roll? What other fabrics would work (which would be the best??)

2.) The tutorial I used didn't have any hems put in on the edges (which makes sense, since you'd see them). So...how do the edges get finished?

Much to my crafty mother's chagrin, I have not really ever been into crafting. It's not that I haven't tried...I've crocheted, knitted, quilted, scrapbooked, digital scrapbooked, made jewelry...none of it stuck. But I've really needed a creative outlet...

A few weeks ago, I started making Scrabble Tile Pendants as a way to calm my nerves after work. I love the small detail of it, the cutting, the gluing, the almost immediate satisfaction of having a completed piece in one evening...but I needed more. It was then that I discovered ATCs on this site. I lurked and stalked, and now I'm ready to come out of lurking and join in!

I am in love. I spent yesterday buying beautiful papers and stamps, today printing off vintage images, and all last night dreaming about the beautiful cards I would start making tonight (I woke up no less than 3 times last night from dreams of paper and ATCs....).

So, tonight I'll be starting - and I'm DYING to start swapping (although I guess I have to get more posts before I can join a swap...)...

So, here I am, new crafter! Can't wait to be a part of this community of creative minds!
