2823  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / a little snb wrist cuff...a present to me for quitting smoking!!! on: January 03, 2005 01:27:29 AM
I know its nuthin big...but I quit smoking two days ago and little projects are what i need right now...I need that instant gratification that I am now NOT getting from the death sticks.  So, I am clamouring for the ol' knittin' sticks instead all the while suckin' on a cinnoman (sp?) stick!  Heres to a day at a time and to a new little life as a NON-Smoker!  yay for meeee!

Maybe i will make another with the "no smoking" symbol...hmmm.  not a bad idea.

2824  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Completed Spiderweb Capelet on: January 02, 2005 05:14:05 PM
hello all!
First off, Deb, you rock girl...I have both the books and i am still having a blast with them.  Thanks for getting such great knitting guidebooks out there....and for the sense of humor you have...it definatly takes a sense of humor to learn to knit.

Secondly, I am so afraid of starting this capelet now.....yikes.  I will get brave....I have to.  I quit smoking 2 days ago and I need to knit constantly to keep my hands busy....I am excited tho because knitting definatly doesnt smell as bad as my smoking habit....and the only health risk is arthritis!  (that I can live with!!)

To my fellow knitters:  you all are so inspiring to me...and I am so happy I found this site.  It seems that everyone is so helpful and ecstatic about knitting.  I am relatively new to the art...and I am glad to have met up with all of you!
