1  Circus sundress in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by violet_knife on: February 23, 2008 03:15:12 PM
It's a lovely springy day here, so I decided to make a sundress. It's one of those from the fabric that's smocked around the top. I cut off about 10" of fabric at the bottom and hemmed it, and then I used the scraps to make straps. I think it's kind of fun and vintage feeling -- the colors and dots make me think of the circus.

I'd say start to finish it took about 90 minutes.

My package from bronzfrog is trapped at the post office until I can retrieve it...but, she got my package, which contained:

Two boxes (one for her and one for her daughter) with fairy wings on top and a little treasure-holding necklace inside. They're lined with felt and the bottoms are covered in felt and they're glittery on the top and front.

And a t-shirt with fairy wings on the back (the front is plain). There was also a book of unicorn stickers, but I just bought those, and I didn't take a picture.

3  felt baby shoes in Shoes: Completed Projects by violet_knife on: March 25, 2007 06:28:44 PM

I made these baby shoes for my friends' new baby. They're wool/acrylic felt with snaps and rickrack bows. I used a pattern from the Martha Stewart website for (that's right) "felt baby shoes." The pattern is here if anyone is interested: http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.0e0eb51a2e6b5ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=da672e912b11f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextchannel=07a19db8cdcee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&rsc=photogallery&lastnavigatedchannel=07a19db8cdcee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD

It took me a while to figure out the sizing, so I wound up making 3 too-small shoes before I got it right. If I'd gotten it right the first time, I'd say the pair would have taken less than an hour.

Package received from Nikkidear. Yay! Sorry for so many pictures -- I couldn't get everything in a picture that didn't make things look lame, which would have been doing a great disservice to my swap partner.

I got a t-shirt:

And a tote bag:

Some magnets:

And a calendar:
