Another longtime lurker, few time poster :-) My mom gave me 4 skeins of pink Debbie Bliss Merino DK - seems my sis is having a boy not a girl (oops), so I've been looking for something to do with the yarn, and happened across this shrug Saturday night at 1am. I was up til 3am swatching, and ended up having to buy size 9 needles the next morning (I had 7s and 11s at home and neither one was right, so I split the difference. I kept the 2x2 ribbing, but decided to use a garter stitch for the body (no patience for the mock rib - sorry!). I'm about 4" into the body and am LOVING it! I'll definitely post pics when done (oooo - my first project on craftster - yeah!).
As a total aside, not sure if anyone else is from the North Hollywood/Valley Village area, but if you are, go check out the window of Voila` at the corner of Magnolia and Whitsett - there's a blue shrug, with sleeves that looks remarkably similar to this one... Hmmmmm... From my car at night, it looked like it had a kind of "bobble" stitch, but was so excited, I had to share
