1  Rococo corset help?? in Halloween Costumes by just-fee on: September 26, 2013 10:38:06 AM
Hullo, I'm making a corset with a 18th century style but I'm a but stuck on fabric choice. I have my corset pattern ready with a bit for a faux hip gore that could be a different colour and my fabric choices. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm starting to freak out!!!

3  Pirate Costume Help?! in Halloween Costumes by just-fee on: October 23, 2011 10:41:20 AM

Here's what I've done so far, striped corset, red skirt (the front will be pinned on both sides), pirate hat plus feathers.
I have a sword and sword belt and knee high boots but I really feel like its lacking something!
 Any ideas? Huh

4  Burlesque Costume in Costumes: Completed Projects by just-fee on: February 28, 2011 09:45:32 AM

This is the Burlesque costume I made for my friends hen night. I made the skirt and jacket.
The skirt was just rectangles sewn together and then folded up and sewn down, so it kinda looked a bit like a bustle.
The jacket was altered from a vintage shirt pattern, made from black wool and a mohair collar.
I'll try and add better pics soon Smiley

5  Gas Light Dress in Costumes: Completed Projects by just-fee on: June 04, 2010 05:45:14 AM
I made up this dress for a model friend.
I use a pattern for the bodice and just made up the skirt, I tend to really over guess length and height so theres about 7 meters in just the skirt. I did some period style cartridge pleating.

Close up of the pleats

My model loved it and I really ejoyed making it.

6  Recovering Trainers? in Shoes: Discussion and Questions by just-fee on: May 26, 2010 12:44:09 PM
I would like to cover these trainers with the fabric in the background.
I'm quiet prepared for lots of handsewing and the only problem area I could see is the reinforced heel.
Can anyone give me helpful advice?

7  steampunk sound of music.... in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by just-fee on: March 22, 2010 05:20:43 PM
I had a crazy dream of a skirt without a back...kinda like buttless chaps...
I made this from scratch and I've been sewing for like 8 hours and now my brain is so frazzled I can't work out how to join the underskirt to the skirt. I cut down the original yoke lining and the bit I cut became the band for the underskirt so it would sit in the right place. My problem is the underskirt is on a continuous band and my skirt has an opening in the back....I want it to button up the back...what do I do?!!! I fear my brain has melted!!!
Any uneven bit will be eaten by the overlocker later...meh so lazy..
Pics to help!!

8  four part circle skirt? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by just-fee on: March 10, 2010 03:19:22 PM

I've fallen in love with this and want to make it from sheer voile, a thin, slightly see through, good drape, curtain material.
I would like to know how to make the skirt part. I'm thinking it's four circles or half circles but I really can't get my head around the maths.
Also I really like the idea of half circle sleeves....do I take the sleeve pattern and just adapt it into a half cirlce or do I use the armhole measurement and draft it much like a circle skirt?

Any help would be really awsome!!...This will be my first project with my new overlocker! excited  Grin
