2  Re: Matchbox Swap round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by smallhold on: May 04, 2011 08:55:10 AM
Snap, half an hour of posting and the computer went haywire and all is gone.

Second try.

CherryRose and Glamis really understood my hang for feminine, victorian and purdy things.
Cherry send this lovely adorned box.  Note the detail in her decorations.

Contents, buttons, sparkly things, butterflies, a dragonfly, stamps, ribbon and a peg butterfly paperholder.

Yes, Glamis hit the nail on the head as well.  Look inside the box, she embroidered a doggie. I'll probably frame it and make a keychain out of it, a lable.  See the beads and pearls on the box? YES!

sideshot to show the purple glitter and a very nice length of lace, PINK lace.

All moved into the cabinet of pretty things. I love love love it and feel generously spoiled.

Can't rotate this pic but the idea is clear.. it's drop dead gorgeous.
Ladies, many many thanks and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is fantastic.

Hope to use some of the lovelies in future but for now they stay in the cabinet of pretties  Smiley

Etched Mirror (with my favorite quote):

Your favourite quote and mine. We had long discussions here with female friends at the same age (so David Bowie fans) if any of us could resist him saying that to us...
Still gives me the shivers watching that scene cos I'd be soooo tempted.
What a wonderful present she made you there. Absolutely smashing Swap.

4  Re: Are you really a spindle? in Spinning: Discussion and Questions by smallhold on: March 23, 2011 12:36:21 PM
Nice one, just splashed out on carded wool. Might take a few days to get here.
Looking forward to try.

Hey, found a pic of the spindle I have.
What say you all?

6  Little cape in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by smallhold on: February 26, 2010 09:23:29 AM
Decided it was time to sew myself a little cape. This is actually a testrun for a gorgeous brown velvet I've got in the cupboard.
Nevertheless, this came out jolly good an I'm quite pleased.
It needed a little extra to brighten it up. Otherwise it appeared a tad stern  Wink
So quickly an organza flower was added and hey presto!

Beneath a shot of the cape in its entirety. I love classic clothes that could have been worn 50 years ago.

7  Dog coats in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by smallhold on: January 13, 2010 10:04:55 AM
If mods feel this should be in another section, please move them. As it's my first post, I'm not sure where it should be.

A friends dogs are older and thin-coated. It's snowing and freezing pretty strong here now so a coat for doggie came to mind.
First made a model for the whippet out of an old sweater. Very warm!
Got 1 square meter of fleece and two dogs now are wrapped warm.
Most important for the whippet is its neck and belly, the older small dog belly.
The dogs seem to like their coats and stand willingly to be dressed when they go out.
