Ok, thanks to some suggestions I have set up a Facebook Group called Edinburgh Crafsters. It's all pretty basic just now but I will work on it and try and make it funky. Facebook have changed how groups work and I think you should now be getting updates to your own page so can keep up with it all. Any suggestions/observations welcome.

Please join this group and we can discuss where and when we will meet.

I have made it a closed group meaning you need to request to join. I did this as I guess we may be discussing where we live, in the future maybe events at our homes so I for a start feel safer if this info is limited.

Peach.

Me too!!!

I've been thinking of starting up a group on meetup.com but maybe we can start it here? I've not written on a thread before and not sure if we get sent noticfications of updates (as in facebook)? Or if we can send people PMs? I do a bit of quilting but would love to learn to sew more shapes, applique techniques, embroidary, dressmaking.

So I guess we need a venue...maybe a cafe/pub to start with so we can get to know each other then perhaps move to someone's living room?

I live in Leith so somewhere around there would suit me but we can make it more central if need be.

And a day that suits people (weekday evening for a couple of hours or sat/sun 1/2 day?) and how often? weekly, monthly?

I guess this is a busy time of year for everyone so how about we start off in the new year? Say mid January?

Let me know your ideas and interests.
