1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Brown Bear What do u see Applique on: September 25, 2011 11:29:37 AM
The book is Brown Bear Brown Bear what do you see?  And we have been reading it in Kindergarten to learn colors. So each day was wear that color day and I decided at the end of the 2 weeks I wanted to wear all the colors from the book.
I am by no means a seamstress and all that measuring and straightness is NOT ME! I just eyeball cut the cloth and sewed and glued with all kinds of scraps I had around the house. I was going for whimsical not straight and perfect.     But the kiddies loved my Brown bear skirt. Here's some in progress shots
and

And finally I velcroed them on a skirt

I really enjoyed the kids reaction and hope to incorporate different patches for different learning units and Holidays.
C&C welcome especially if you have a good tutorial I could use!  Oh and FYI if the velcro says not intended for fabric it doesn't hold well! Live and Learn.

Close up of the pheonix center...

the arrow shows the magnetic extra clip to have a double layer half way around. Or you can use the other hook and attach to a ring to make it look like this:

I've hooked it to my open weave celtic ring.

Thanks for looking!
