I'm thinking of taking part in a new swap Ive seen but the problem is Ive never swapped before and i worried that whatever i craft wouldn't be good enough so then id over compensate making my partner feel bad that id added all the extra stuff 

so I'm just wondering is there an ideal swap i should look out for with it being my first time?

I'm sure that once i get into the hang of it id love it and i certainly love receiving packages but I love even more people loving my gifts. Im just wondering what peoples thoughts were on first time swappers?

but i mean everyones got to start somewhere right 

i have finally gotten around to jazzing up a plain black pair of shoes i bought for £12 out of a local supermarket, i picked up some diamante's and created these



i plan to wear them to add a little sparkle to one of my many Little Black Dresses 

I’m thinking of trying to make my first dress – I’m a total beginner (I’ve only attempted tote bags etc) so I was thinking instead of buying a pattern and scaring myself out of it and not knowing where to start I would use an old dress to cut the material out and go from there but as always I’m assuming it wont be as simple and ill run into problems.

So do you guys have any tips or suggestions to make my first time run as smoothly as possible…..

So this is the first thing I have ever made without giving up half way through! and I’m quite proud of how it turned out  I’m planning on making 13 of these bags as a part of a surprise so 1 down 12 to go!

This is the outside of the bag I’ve chosen these colours because there going to be used in autumn so I thought it would go well with the season.



We are off to Disneyland Paris hence the Mickey logo - I just printed a picture from the web and made a stencil out of card then cut the felt that way.



This is the inside of the bag I know its a little untidy around the edges but i hope to get better as i go.



The only issues I really had whilst making this was the top of the bag I didn’t want to sew it as you would see the stitching so I used a thing called wonder web its used for hemming trousers etc, it worked really well.

So that’s my first bag =D I just wanted to take the time to show you what my dad and I (yes he helped and I think he enjoyed it more than me!) spent my Saturday night doing! and to thank you all for the inspiration to get started!

firstly let me apologise if I'm posting this in the wrong section!  and let me give you a little background on what I'm needing help with.

Ive been asked by my bestfriend to be her bridesmaid when she gets married in October  were planning on a weekend away in Paris for her hen party/bridal shower and id like to make the rest of the guests on the trip a little goodie bag.

I'm planning on sewing my own bags which i don't think will be too difficult but it will be time taking theres 13 females hence why I'm starting the planning now.

what I'm struggling with is what to put in the bags and i thought that the creative and thoughtful people here might be able to give me some ideas.

i already have a few things in mind

1. jewellery - i have a mini jewellery making kit at home so I'm planning on making bracelets in her chosen wedding colours
2. a CD full of music that will remind people of their time


and a few other little things like sweets etc. id just like to give something thoughtful that people will appreciate but wont break the bank!

any suggestions will be really appreciated and id love to hear all your interesting ideas!

I'm new to this site and I'm looking for a little help

for a while now Ive been looking into making my own bags and purses, starting small and learning as i go, i recently thought it would be a good idea to look for purse frames and go from there.

normally when i get an idea i jump feet first into it and end up regretting buying all the things ill never useagain but this time i thought id do my research.

i found that the majority of the frames i find are rather expensive and just starting out i don't want all of my materials to cost a fortune and then discover I'm no good at it  

so if your experienced at making your own purses id love to hear from you and share some ideas and tips!.....I'm just trying to figure out where i start!!!
