2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: new flasks, skulls, cherries, eyeballs and brains OH my (pic heavy) on: May 19, 2011 08:03:25 AM

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Tiny mother and baby mouse plushies on: April 11, 2011 10:09:05 AM
My husband bought me a vintage book called "The Blackberry Hollow Cuddly Toy Book" a while back. I fell in love with this wonderful book and have created a whole mess of mice and a couple of hedgehogs for my nieces and sons. There are also patterns for squirrels, rabbits, moles and owls. All the animals come in "Mommy and baby" sizes. The plushie and costume patterns are full sized and and are accompanied by extremely easy to follow instructions.

A great book that I highly recommend adding to you crafting library!

I dressed mommy mouse in a circle skirt trimmed with beads.

Baby mouse is wearing a tutu made from tiny strips of tulle and a thin piece of elastic.

Thanks for looking.

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Birthday party toile embroidery on: April 07, 2011 09:58:48 AM
I have always been a huge fan of toile fabric and after being inspired by several posts here on craftster,  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=331859.0
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=344019.0 and finding Richard Saja's amazing work http://historically-inaccurate.blogspot.com/
i decided that I would give it a try. My embroidery skills are not very advanced but I am super proud of it. I used a faux suede upholstery fabric (50% off at Joann's) and turned my piece into a pillow. The toile ia also a 50 percent off upholstry special.
It figured it took me about 7 hours to complete and I am already working on a couple other themes.....zombies and day of the dead.

Excuse my pencil marks.....these pics were taken before I washed it up.

I added beads to the tree to give the appearance of tiny flowers.

7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Wooden Alphabet Blocks? on: April 04, 2011 12:54:43 PM
I did name plate things for the girls at work last year. I decopaged the 4 sides that were blank with flowery paper and glued them together to spell names. I think the fridge magnet idea is fantastic, I am gong to try those for sure.
