Hi Erdbeerblau! First of all: very brave of you to try and learn Dutch. How is that going? Smiley I can imagine it must be very hard.

I blog in English and Dutch as well (most of the time) so feel free to check out my blog: http://bijgebrekaanbeter.blogspot.com

Thanks for your reactions!

@Maraleopard, we have a store that's called Think Twice (website: http://thinktwice-secondhand.be/) and every month they have a salesweek. So the week starts with -30% on every item in the shop, then -50%, then everything for 7, 5, ... And eventually everything for 1! After those sales they restock their shops with new items Smiley Super fun to go to, I can assure you!

So first of all I'll give you a little before picture:

I found this dress in my local thriftstore for only 1 (like pretty much all dresses and clothing I ever buy) I really liked the pattern on the front and back, although it kinda reminds me of costumes for folk dancing. (haha)
At the time I didn't really know what to do with it so I just left it hanging over my mannequin for quite some time.

Finally I remade it into this ... thing - well I'm not really sure wht to call it.

I simply chopped off the sleeves, made armholes (that are too big) (oh yeah, that's my bra sticking out) and shortened it. Not really sure what to think of it.

So what do you think, is it wearable enough or do I look like a milkmaid/greek folk dancer?

That looks amazing! The lace back is also wonderful (seen it on your blog) Well I think you did an awesome job! (And other people that don't know how to sew probably won't even notice that you did a 'crappy job' on the back) Wink

Oh, so great finding a piece of clothing for a dollar (in my case: euro Wink ) and then making it into something that flatters you so much more! Great recon!
