1  Re: Post Apocalyptic Survival Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Alchamy513 on: December 17, 2012 06:58:26 AM
Ok, I feel like a horrible partner, but I've been super busy and haven't had time to post pictures of my awesome package... however, I did manage to snap a few pictures. I'll try to get some action shots, but that requires my boyfriend to be home.

The whole package:

The thing on the top is an awesome zombie fighting jacket, the leather thing is a hip bag made from a fannie pack and a leather backpack! They both fit awesome and I hope to get those action shots so you can see!

Close up of the bullet shell and crystal necklace:

I've been coveting one of these for a long time!

And matching earrings!

Thanks for the awesome package!

Hi everyone! I wanted to thank you all again for a wonderful and stress free swap! Also, I have pictures finally... sorry for the delay!

First, deathbeforedishes' ornaments:

I can't quite decide, but I think the red one is my favorite.

and now, Harvey's ornaments:

Once again, can't really decide, but I love the tophat! She also sent me some chocolates, but they've been long gone... mmm...

Thanks again girls, my boyfriend loves them too! Also, I wanted to show off my awesome tree that we made... I bought a $20 tree from Target, and 5 cans of spray paint later (3 crappy copper ones that wouldn't spray right, one good copper, and a little bit of gold around the edges for shimmer) I had a beautiful copper tree, just like the ones they have for $170 for a little under $50. I love it! The only downside is that under the wrong lighting it looks like a dead tree more than a pretty copper one... but with the (super expensive, don't ask...) LED light strips my boyfriend used it looks really good. The lights are a bit different than the pictures now, he reprogrammed them to be lighter and different colors, but I haven't taken any new ones yet. Anyway, long story short, all of the ornaments from this swap and past ones are on the tree and they look awesome... along with some other things I've received in past swaps like a jet pack on the back and some other Steamy things!

With the flash:

Without the flash:

And the tree topper is a real top hat that my boyfriend wears sometimes...  Grin

A spot just for me! I can't wait to see all the delicious goodies already! Sorry for the delay, but here's the lovely package I received from Koreena!

The whole thing, look at all the corks!:

Delicious cookies:

This is blurrier than I realized, but on the left is "Salty Chocolate/Peanut Butter Chip with Pretzel cookies," which happen to be the same ones I sent her (they look completely different... according to pinterest I didn't use enough flour?), and the ones on the right are "Peanut butter chocolate pies" which I loved too! Neither of them lasted very long... if you look closely at the first picture you can see a hole... she had packed it full but my BF and I dug in as soon as we opened it!

And a close up of the extra, a really cool airship ornament:

Thanks again, I loved everything!

Whether you want to decorate an entire Steampunk tree, complete with a clockwork tree, or if you would rather just add to your collection, you should join! We'll be making a set of ornaments (the goal right now is groups of 5, but this may change, and it will only be smaller if they do) and sending one ornament to each partner. These ornaments can be completely from scratch, or you can alter an existing ornament to look Steampunk.

Your ornaments can be sweat shop style (all the same) or each one can be unique. You should be making 5 or less in all, one for each partner and one for yourself.

It doesn't matter how big or small your ornament is, but keep in mind that it should be big enough to be admired on a tree (probably at least 3x3 if not a little bigger) and light enough to hang on a branch. If you have ornaments, look at those first to see what a good size would be! Beyond that, use your creativity to craft something your partners will love. They should also have something to hang them from! Take your time (we have over a month of crafting time) and have fun! This should be a low stress swap.

Further, if you don't celebrate Christmas, don't worry! This is a nondenominational ornament swap, so everyone is welcome! If you just want some pretty little trinkets to hang on the wall feel free to join.

Finally, I have the right to refuse anyone who has consistently late feedback or negatives. I'd love for this to be a flake free swap!

Details of swap:

Calling all Sherlock fans! While this is mainly a BBC Sherlock swap, I don't want to exclude any other fans, though, so if you haven't watched Sherlock that's fine too. The inspiration for this swap comes from "The Scandal in Belgravia" Christmas party scene:

"Oh come on, surely you've all seen the present on top of the bag? Perfectly wrapped with a bow, all the others are slap-dash at best. For someone special then. Shade of red echoes her lipstick, either an unconscious association or one that she's deliberately trying to encourage. Either way, Miss Hooper has loooove on her mind. The fact that she's serious about him is clear from the fact that she's giving him a gift at all, that would suggest hopes of a long-term relationship. And the fact that she's seeing him tonight is obvious from her makeup and what she's wearing. Obviously trying to compensate for the size of her mouth and breas...
[voice trails off as he opens the tag: "Dearest Sherlock Love Molly xxx"]"

Well I think everyone needs a Molly Hooper present for the holidays! This is going to be a three point swap, and the trick is it must be a large. You're going to make a lovely present for your Sherlock, and they won't know who its from until they open it! This is a sort of "Secret Santa" swap in that regard. So whip out your best craft and make your Sherlock something they will love! (And of course it must be Sherlock themed as well, that's what makes it a Sherlock swap!)

For a swap like this it is a good idea to have something your Molly can "stalk" like a pinterest, wist, or etsy favorites. If you don't have one of these, please make one!

I reserve the right to refuse anyone due to feedback, frequent late senders or flakers may be refused! I want this to be a flake free swap!

Alright, I received an awesome package!

Group shot. Look at this awesome art!

Even the note was pretty

A 5x7 of one of my favorite scenes

And these are all 8.5x11
Coulson, my favorite from the movies

And he would love to hang beside Captain America

Hawkeye, my favorite Avenger

And Iron Man! I love Tony, hes so snarky all the time... I usually call him Tony Snark. Although Hawkeye can keep up with him I'm sure!

I can't draw at all, so these are super amazing! My housemate likes them so much they may have a prominent place in the living room! Thank you!

Day 9:
Awesome lanterns and bloody shot glasses:

Day 8:
Lots of little decorating things, tights, owl earrings, and awesome Plants vs Zombies charms

Day 7:
Lots of glass bottles/apothecary jars!

Day 6:
Chocolate making stuff!

Day 5:
Paper cut pictures, they're already up in the library

Day 4:
Assorted decor, me and the BF love the zombie house!

EDIT: The hand in the previous picture should be in the plant, like so:

So very awesome!

Day 3:

I got two necklaces, so here are pics of both of them. Remind me not to use a shiny background next time!

Its really long with a lot of dangly beads around it. Don't worry, bookstorebabe, I'm not a fan of most purples but this one is fine!

and this one is really cool, too, its fabric with nuts on it!

I feel pretty horrible about not posting pictures of my package...but never fear, I FINALLY found my camera cord! I also found my remote, so I could take the pictures myself... and I realized I really don't know how to pose for pictures. Anyway, as I said earlier:

I received an awesome capelet, black fabric lined with green silky fabric and it laces up at the neck. I also got an asymmetrical skirt and a lovely shirt.

One awkward picture to show off the outfit (I realized you can't see the awesome fabric that the cape is made out of... I may have to go back for close ups... and ignore the lace leggings, they were the first pair I grabbed):

and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to do my best Nynaeve pose while showing off the asymmetrical skirt:

Thanks again for everything, and sorry for the picture delay! I am now all ready to travel the Ways!
