71  Re: Stationery & Note Card Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Koreena on: July 24, 2012 07:25:44 AM
I've received some wonderful cards from Eiseldora~ Thank you!!   Grin Grin Grin

Check out the awesomeness:

Did you hand print the cards Eiseldora?  The paper & ink are beautiful ~ Very nicely crafted!  Think I can get away with one of the Hunger Games cards as a wedding card this summer?  A friend who got me into the series/lent the books to me is getting married in a few weeks...  Hmmm.....

WideEyedLife~ Those are all great!  Very nice Smiley

Here are my envelopes, finally!  They're pretty plain, but I like them  Wink

The colours will match the trim of the photo cards and the papers I use & the small image will be random for the cards & will match for the papers.  And I'm done until we choose!!  Cheesy  Decisions, decisions...

Sorry for the delay in getting these posted - I wasn't at work yesterday & had forgotten my camera there...  ANyhow~ Here are pictures of my niece Learah receiving her awesome package from dessadoll's daughter on Monday:

Excitedly breaking into the box

Exclaiming "CooooooooooL" as she checks out the decorated box

Modelling her favourite items: the handmade wand (with an "L" charm on it!), the pretty peacock feather hairclip & the super cute bottlecap earrings

Close-up of the handmade goodies: decorated box for her little treasures, feather hairclip, magic wand, personalized mug (which she LOVES) and a mouse toy for her 2 crazy cats

Close-up of the many, many 'extra's: a DIY picture frame & markers, a toy twisty worm (this made her squeal), a reusable shopping bag/frog, Sponge Bob goodies (play kit & tub stick-ons) & THE FUNNIEST book I've seen in ages~ "More stuff on my cat" - this is a book of photos of cats with stuff on them.  Not kidding.  I cracked up when I looked through this Cheesy

Here's a shot of the whole kit - this is an amazing amount of stuff!!!  You can see that Dessa included a sweet note to Learah and there were also some funky glass beads that I'm just realizing weren't in the group shot...  She must have had them in her hand while I was taking pictures.

THANK YOU so much for spoiling Learah like this~  You really went above & beyond!!  I haven't seen Learah giggle, squeal & generally goof around and be excited like that in a while - this package really made her feel special  Grin  Once it all sank in & she could breathe again, she said "Well I hope she liked what I sent for her.  I love the things I sent, but I feel kinda bad because I didn't send as much cool stuff."  We hope that Dessa likes the things that we sent & that we can see her pictures soon, too!   Smiley

Ok~ It's official.  I'm going derby style for this swap Smiley  I hope that's OK with all of you!  It seems that even people who don't play derby are interested or amused by it...  It seems to be a safe bet.

The cards I posted earlier ARE the ones I'm offering and here is the paper:

Option 1: Large watermark on unlined, coloured paper

Option 2: Small image at top corner & "Derby Love" signature on lined, coloured paper

And a close-up of one of the pages, so you can get a better idea of what it looks like:

I'd be happy to modify any of the offerings- If you don't want lines, borders, signature line on the paper for example, or if you want 8 of the same picture on the card, or 2 each of 4, or 8 different ones, etc, etc...  Also I'm limited by my stash, but will try to accommodate colour requests.

Hope you like them!!!   Grin

Hey everyone!  So excited to join this swap with you ~ Love the samples that have been posted so far Smiley

What do you think about these photo/roller derby cards?

This is a set that I made for another swap recently and my partner really liked them...  I use pictures from my roller derby league (the Niagara Roller Girls) and will use pictures that are 'annonymous' like skates or funny action shots.  I'll keep the insides blank, so that you can use them for any occasion...

For the stationery, I'm still working out ideas Smiley  I plan to keep it derby style, probably with sketches or drawings of skates or derby girls on the edges of the page.

What do you think??  Smiley

Wooooo hooo hooooo  Grin  Glad you like what I made for you Naja ~ the purple looks gorgeous on you!  And awww   Smiley  I'm pretty stoked that we've become friends through here, too...  SO thankful for new, positive & funny people in my life!

And now, it's my turn to post ~ I got super, super spoiled!!!

Here's a shot of the entire amazing package:

She knows I'm a yarn junkie, and so she sent me a whole bunch of different awesome colours:

THE most beautiful, soft & perfectly fitting wrist warmers (which I am wearing in my freezing cold office right now):

And the best, best, best thing I've ever received in the mail...  A DIY henna tattoo kit  Grin Cheesy Grin  So awesome!!!

I couldn't wait to try it out and henna'd my foot, leg, palm, wrist, finger, boyfriend...  almost got the cat.  I had to laugh when I was looking for my purse before bed and found it dropped on the floor next to the table where I had opened the box at around 5 pm...  Guess I was a little excited Smiley

Here's a shot of my very first henna attempt:

Naja thoughtfully included a beginners guide to henna art, as well as a super cute card with some tips & instructions.  I <3 my new friend  Cool

I've received my first package from Najaorama, too!  It's great  Grin  I can't believe how similar so many of our interests are.

Here is an shot of all of the goodies:

This is the best shot for viewing the amazingly beautiful orange fabric that she picked up during one of her relief work trips to Africa.

Here is a close up of the edge-of-the-cup-cookie cookie cutter & the prayer flags from her wedding:

Both are such great ideas!  She loves to cook & so do I...  Can't wait to make the cookies!  The flags are so simple and sweet~ I've already shared the idea with a friend of mine who is getting married later this year~

Here are the knitted lily purse, the bottle stopper & the package of mica:

Naja is learning to knit & this is a detailed & pretty project, so cute!  The bottle stopper is for making ginger beer...  I love that she & her hubby make their own beer~ Something that is on my to-do list this Fall!  And the mica is from an abandoned mine where she & her hubby often go hiking Smiley

Here is my favourite: the gorgeous flower/rhinestone hairclip (that I wore last night & am wearing again right now)  Cheesy  LOVE IT!!!

These Snoop Dog cocktail napkins made me laugh out loud:

Like Naja, I neither drink many cocktails nor particularly love Snoop Dog....  It doesn't matter ~ These are awesome! Smiley  We friended each other on Facebook when we were partnered for this swap and I've come to learn that Naja is not only a very insightful person, she also has an awesome sense of humour Smiley  I get a kick out of her funny posts quite often.
My bf & I are having a BBQ/party for the tightrope walk at Niagara Falls tonight and I can't wait to see peoples' expressions when they see these out on the table hahaahah

Lastly, Naja sent me a 9th item "just because" ~ a garlic shaped pincushion Smiley

Just because she's a little random.  I love it!

I also really loved the Monet card that she wrote all of the descriptions in (see the first photo in the post)...  She didn't now it, but Monet is my favourite artist.  Happy accident.

Thank you SO MUCH for sending me so many cool things, Naja!  This swap rocks!!!   Grin

Here I am finally taking a few minutes to post some updates!

Here are the arm warmers that I promised my friend Tanya 2 years ago...  I actually started a pair for Christmas 2009, got 1 & 1/2 done and then lost the wool...  determined to find the wool, the project was put on hold.  I've given up on ever coming across the wool & whipped up a different pair in a couple of days:

Also, I finally picked up the last of my pottery projects!  Some good, some bad.  To be expected!
Pasta bowl for me:

Dip/misc bowl:

Amazing nacho platter (the photo is so bizarre...  the colours are actually gorgeous, not scary ugly)

Failed serving tray ~ has a huge crack in it and terrible glaze...  I've decided to smash it & the other failed projects and to use the bits of broken pottery for my #28 Tile mosaic.  Think that's a good way not to waste the gorgeous colour!

Some day soon I will remember to take pictures of all of my other finished projects...  Smiley

Have a great weekend everyone!

I am blown away by the creativity recently!  Cinnamon teal - your bird hoop is absolutely incredible~  I LOVE it!  You are very, very talented Smiley  Fantasticmio - Your crocheted owl is so cute!!  Did you design the pattern yourself?  I can see a little guy like that hanging out in my kitchen...  And sheepBlue:  Your big butts hoop is hilarious & your creative ideas are sooo interesting!  I always wonder where people get such creative ideas...  Impressive Smiley

Here are a couple of things that I actually finished a while ago...  I've been too busy to post anything!

The 4th & final toy I made for the Crochet for Charity Club

I was SO proud of my students this term - we had an incredible turn out of volunteers come and learn how to crochet, and we managed to complete more than 20 toys!  These toys will be brought to Namibia this weekend, and will be given to the children in one of the villages where our students volunteer.  Here is a picture of me with a few of the crafty volunteers

Here are some more pottery projects I've completed...

(terrible picture - this tray is actually kinda nice)

A woven bowl & key dish

The only bowl that survived the wheel Smiley  (the "coaster" in the background was a bowl at one point...)

And my favourite ~ My woven basket fruit bowl

PS - the monster puke platter pieces that I posted a while ago...  ()They broke.  We were making fun of them the other day, trying to figure out whether to donate them or throw them out and all of the sudden the piece I was holding cracked and fell, breaking the other piece at the same time.  Was pretty funny Smiley  I guess even pottery can only take so many insults...

Hello one last time!  I have received my super-creative package from goldfishpollywog & can finally share it with you~ Check out the pincushion/needle or hook holder that she made for me:

Here is another angle to show the different browns that she used to make it look like the swirls in a tree stump:

In case you can't tell from the photo (sorry for the crap quality) - You can put crochet hooks or knitting needles between the folds of the fabric, or you can just use it as a pincushion.  So smart & simple!

You can also see the super cute notebook that she sent for me, too - Love it!!

Thanks again for being a great partner, I really like what you made for me~  Cheesy
