11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where can I find these? on: January 21, 2005 06:02:04 PM
Yes! I'm unschooling my girls... love Grace Llewllyn & John Holt... How cool that you were unschooled. Was it a positive experience for you? I've heard mixed feelings from some unschoolers - some loved it some felt something was missing. I think its fabulous and wish I'd have been unschooled as I was an outcast (too artsy) in my highschool and was bored to tears. LOL!

I found these balls I want to crochet... mind you, I just learned the basic dish cloth a few days ago... the pattern says its easy but I just don't get how to do it. It starts...

ch2 , then join stiches with a sl st
6sc into second chain from hook
2sc in each of 6 sts of previous round

I'm lost after ch2!!!!
Can anyone help or do I need to find someone to "show me" in person?

17  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Oh. My. God. I knitted a sweater. on: January 13, 2005 05:42:44 PM
Hardy unnattractive... You're Beautiful! And so is your way-cool sweater! I'm jealous! I've made two seperate 1/2 baby sweaters in my life. Yep, that's right 1/2! I never finished either one. Pathetic, I know.
You rock!
18  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: do any of you have a damned dollie? on: January 10, 2005 04:03:59 PM
It looks to me like the same stretchy cotton used to make Waldorf dolls... try http://www.magiccabin.com/magiccabin/product.do?section_id=3&bc=1004&pgc=180&sv=333416

If the link doesn't work go to http://www.magiccabin.com and look under dollmaking supplies.

Good luck!

20  UNITED STATES / Maine / Re: So how many people here are from Maine? on: January 03, 2005 03:42:26 PM
I'm in the Auburn area (moved from the Portland area about 3 months ago). Its lonely as hell here but I'm a stay-at-home, unschooling mom so I haven't gotten out much! I spend lots of time on various unschooling email loops and I'm thrilled to have found this site! I had studied art for years and after I had my first child and went through two major moves I lost my creative drive. Well, I'm finding it again and its nice to have a place of inspiration to come to! Of course now there is TOO MUCH I want to do!
