1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Need advice for redoing my motorhome- 1950's style!! on: January 05, 2010 12:39:11 PM
Hi everyone!

I am in need of some ideas of what color to paint the walls and cupboards in my motorhome.
I'm doing a 1950's diner theme type of deal. I have the shiney black and white checkerboard floor, I got new cushions made in red vinyl, I re-covered the countertop in black matte and am going to put a chrome trim around them both. Hmmmm.... what else....I am putting up a 'brushed aluminum' looking backsplash. I'm thinking of covering the fridge door with a red stainless steel panel....I just need to find one Grin For curtains I was thinking either a red and white gingham or a black and white gingham. I've thought about painting the cupboard doors in chalkboard paint (hard to clean?) and then the bakground of the cupboards red. But still no ideas for the walls Sad

I had to re-frame the back end (due to the previous owners backing into something, and then not doing anything to seal the holes they created! LOTS of mould and rotten wood!) so now I feel the need to re-paint the panelling as the ones I had to replace do not match.

So, to recap: need advice on painting the walls/cupboards all around, thoughts on curtains welcome, also any other ides welcome!!

Here are some pics (from the start for the renos) that wil give a bit of an idea as to what it looks like (click on them to go to my photo hosting)
