I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a swap based on Janet Evanovich books and/or crime comedy books? I see there were some swaps of this type in the past. Her characters, especially Stephanie Bloom , get into some outrageous situations and I think is would be a great theme for a swap. Anyone else interested?
sounds fun to me, but I don't crochet or knit. I sew, that will be okay, right? How do I flag that I want to be notified when it signs up. I'm not too technological. I remember seeing something someone wrote that I can put down swaps I want to hear on, but I don't know where or what it was. Help?
I don't blame you one bit...I'd hate being treated that way too. Especially when you made a substantial purchase. Oh well, you're probably younger and prettier than those old biddies! P.S. I am very impressed that so many Craftsters are young, and so dedicated to crafting and sewing. People in my age bracket seem to be sitting back and saying "Oh I don't HAVE to sew anymore, I used to when the kids were little...(etc)" Yay to all young Craftsters, and don't let their rude behaviour get to you.
Thanks Dharma, I'm still new at swapping and I get insecure about what are the right things to do. I need one of those 1-yard wonder books I guess. I have a handwritten list I jot down ideas on and keep adding to it of things I could make, but most of them are in my comfort zone LOL!!And I am real bad about just trying things without a pattern...you know, there's a right way, a wrong way, and a Margie way!! LOL!!
Thank you for your input. So do most of you all prefer longer length pieces, or a variety of smaller pieces? Solids or prints? Cotton or things like fleece, corduroy, suede, cotton knit? I've been looking at prior swaps and it almost looks like it is usually smaller pieces (fat quarters maybe). Thoughts?
Mostly I am going from stash, but parts of it are like 3 - 4 - 10 yard pieces, so...but I was very fortunate because I was blessed with this from a friend last month. Now set me straight, the fabric we send our partner is supposed to be at least 2 pieces and total (minimum)2 yards, so that means each piece theoritically (?) is just a yard. So that is not much to "make" something with, or not for clothing anyway. So how big are the pieces typically sent? I do mostly "crafts" so small pieces are better for my needs, but what about you all? Would you prefer 4-quarters, or 1 yard straight?
I was just wondering how everybody is coming along? I've got stuff figured out, but not cut out...and I swore I would do it today, before anything else on my to-do list, but 4 tubs of laundry (for a single person who was out of laundry soap TOO long) really convinced me I could wait, but now it's like less than 3 weeks! Anyway, hope you all are progressing, it has been pretty quiet on here since partner posting.
This sounds like fun, can someone remind me when sign ups get here? I can't wait for spring, even went out this morning and cut all the dead leaves off my clump of banana trees. What a difference! I'm so ready for warm weather and pretty flowers!!!! Of course, it seems like we have 2 weeks of spring and then right into HOT HOT summer here! LOL!!
