1  Adam and Jamie are friends... in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by irishdaydreamer on: July 23, 2011 12:00:22 PM
Myth busted!

I was brainstorming with my dad the other day to figure out what dolls to make, and suddenly Adam and Jamie popped into my head! What celebrities could be better to immortalize in plush form than the glorious Adam and Jamie?

These were made from my own pattern, and took about 4 hours to make.

It's a little hard to see, but Adam's shirt says "Busted!"

I am particularly in love with Adam's glorious mustache!

Adam and Jamie=BFFs.

I'm planning on mailing these to the Mythbuster offices! Hopefully I'll get a response. *crosses fingers*

2  Tom Baker 4th Doctor plushie in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by irishdaydreamer on: July 20, 2011 03:28:55 PM
"Would you care for a jelly baby?"

I got a custom request to do a Tom Baker doll on etsy, and of course  I jumped at the chance! He is about a foot tall, with a removable scarf and hat. I made him from a pattern I designed myself, and I'm extremely pleased with how he turned out.

All cozy, and ready for some adventures with Sarah Jane.

His little blue button shoulder joints

I actually didn't notice that the buttons I used for his eyes were tinted blue, until AFTER I sewed them on!

Anyway, he's adorable and cuddly, and I'm very excited to send him to the girl who bought him.

3  Hello.... I'm the Doctor. in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by irishdaydreamer on: July 15, 2011 05:54:28 PM
So, a few weeks ago, I got bored and decided to make myself a new pattern for a Doctor Who plush! And, it went far better than I thought it would. So, here's my new Doctor doll! He's already been getting into adventures with the Tardis, as you can see... Tongue

He's made out of fleece and cotton, with a ribbon bow-tie.

I love the buttons I found to hold on his arms... I think I'm going to go get some more, to put on a shirt or something. They're so AWESOME.

And his lovely little suspenders.

I'm so pleased with how he came out! I'm definitely going to make more with this pattern.

5  My Tardis door, living room Hogwarts Crest, and Lord of the Rings tribute. in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by irishdaydreamer on: January 23, 2011 07:58:16 PM
My family is rather odd. We're all extremely nerdy, and can't be content with "normal" things. So, when my mother said that I could paint whatever I wanted on our walls, I jumped for joy!

Because I am a giant nerd, I was not content with my boring door that I had already painted bright red a few years ago. No. I had to have a Tardis as my door. And so, my Tardis was born!

It's very stylized, because I was a huge fan of Vincent and The Doctor. I loved how they had the Tardis painted in the painting, so I did my door similarly.

(Please excuse the black on the top of the wall. It's the beginnings of Narnia in our upstairs hallway. Yes. The Tardis is stopped in Narnia.)

My room is at the end of a very narrow hallway, so it was impossible to back up far enough to get a decent picture! Blast it all.

And one of me coming out of my room!

(And yes, that might... POSSIBLY... be an Amy hoodie.... Maybe... *cough*)

And one extremely narcissistic one, just because. This is now my facebook profile picture. I was rather excited about completing my door.

Now, onwards to the downstairs!

This is in the downstairs hall.

It's an elven brooch!

And, next to the stairs....

"One ring to rule them all..."

Please excuse my messy house. I am a crafter, not a cleaner.

And, finally, waayyyyy up on the wall of my living room....

The Hogwarts crest! Cheesy

It's about 5 feet tall, and around 20 feet off the ground. I spent a whole week living on a ladder.

Thank you, and goodnight! *exits with a swish of a cape*

7  Re: Doctor Who Swap Round 3 Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by irishdaydreamer on: August 16, 2010 08:05:26 PM
So, I got my package today, and may I just say, THENORM IS TOTALLY THE BOMB.

Thank you.
*gets off soap box*

Now, on to the picture-y goodness!

Beware, this is going to be image obese!

Firstly, a Doctor Who box! Woot!

And, inside the box, were the awesome divider cards! Look how cute they are...

Then, I found this flipping SWEET light switch cover! I'd actually been meaning to make one of these, for ages.

And, a little Tardis papercraft! As you can see, I've already begun construction...

A cutie-patootie shirt! Can you believe this was her first attempt at freezer paper stenciling?!

AND, this awesome Vincent Van Gogh shirt! I love that quote, because I myself am a ginger. I've always wanted a shirt that said "Rude and not ginger" but that would make no sense for me to wear. Well, it would, just not to the average person. But, I digress.

THEN, a mirror with a bow tie on it!!!! Cheesy So, now I can feel like I'm wearing a bow tie, whenever I look into it!!!

Lastly, the most flipping sweet embroidered thing evah', a WEEPING ANGEL!!!! I have named her Lisa, and she is now residing on my wall. Don't worry, though. I have my Les Mis poster of little Cosette looking at her, so I'm totally safe... I hope.

See how my face is filled with GLEEE?!?!?!

thenorm, I bow down to your skills. I BOW DOWN!!!!

Yeah. Feel free to be jealous.

This craft swap was the best thing ever!!!! Except for the last Doctor Who swap.  I love you, fingerpistol! *MWAH!*

Goodness, that's a lot of pictures. I'M JUST SO EXITED!!!! TheNorm, you totally rock!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!

8  Re: Doctor Who Swap - Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by irishdaydreamer on: June 14, 2010 07:43:30 PM
Hey guys! I got my package on Saturday, and it is AWESOME. I haven't had time to post pictures of it, because I had an allergic reaction to some medicine I was on for a sinus infection, and I've been in and out of the emergency room all weekend.

BUT, I'm back at home, and I've finally had time to take pictures!
WOOT!

Seriously, this was one of the most awesome swaps EVER. Fingerpistol and I are probably going to do a personal swap later on, because we liked crafting for each other so much Cheesy

Now, onward to the goodies....

First, I opened my box, and found this cute little bag.

Hmmm, but what could be in it?

A crapload of AWESOME PINS. That's what.

Then, I found these flipping sweet stamps!

Look how cuuuttteee!

Then, I found one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Look at this rad paper art! :O *faints*

It is now hanging on my wall, in a place of honor. I bow down to your mad skills fingerpistol. I bow down...

Then, my favorite...

A #10 poppet! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

*faints again*

I love his face. His little raised eyebrow just warms my heart.

And his awesome converse...

And look at his suit! :O It's brown felt that she stitched blue thread into, to make it pinstripe!!!! All his buttons work, too!
She also made him a Tardis key out of clay, and made a bigger one for me to wear. Great minds think alike, apparently... Cheesy

AND, what would the Doctor be without his Sonic Screwdriver?

*faints one more time*

Seriously. Best. Swap. Ever.

Fingerpistol, you rock my socks off!!!!!

9  Doctor Who Nesting Dolls in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by irishdaydreamer on: June 08, 2010 09:08:57 AM
This is a set of nesting dolls I made for a Doctor Who swap! I was INSANELY happy with how they came out!

From left to right, we have the Tardis, The Doctor #10, Rose, Martha, Donna, and Amy!
I hand painted all of them in acrylics, then painted them with a coat of varnish.

All together, I would say they took about 10 hours to complete. But, I watched Doctor Who, and Torchwood while I painted, so it wasn't that bad Cheesy I don't have a closer picture of The Doctor, but in his right hand he's holding his Sonic Screwdriver, and in his right, he's holding the key to the Tardis.

Closeup of the Tardis....

And, if you look inside...

The bottom

The top!

I'm so happy with how these turned out, and my awesome parter, fingerpistol, loved them!

Awww, thank you guys! *blushes* I had a fun time doing it. It was my first try embroidering something, so it was a labor of love. When it was done, I didn't want to give it up! Tongue Good thing what I got was so dang AWESOME!!!!

Say hello to MINI MARIE!!!

Isn't she precious?

Look at the little bows on her stockings!

I love her to death. She's so soft, and cuddly!
