Some of you may have read my previous posts on craftster describing the senior thesis project that I working on to complete my graphic design b.f.a... if you haven't: I am doing a project about craftivism. What I am making is a sort of twist on a magazine. It includes background and directions for various "socially conscious" projects.

I am interested in including the womb pattern, but would like to have pictures of the finished pieces and don't have enough time to make one before my project is due.


So, if you have made the womb, and wouldn't mind me using photographs of it in my project (which will only be seen at my school and in my portfolio for self-promotion) please email them to me at traci.larson@gmail.com.

I would prefer the highest resolution you have available, but will not be picky. Also, the more wombs the better!

Hi.

I am a Senior Graphic Design student at an art-school in Los Angeles.

I am doing my senior thesis about crafting, and am still trying to focus that subject area based on the information that I can find.

I am hoping that some of the wonderful people here at craftster can give me some insight about their craft habits...

These are some general categories I think that I would find helpful, feel free to tell me as much or as little as you have time for or are comfortable doing...

• What role does craft have in your life?
   (How often do you do it, how much of the stuff you have is crafted, how many gifts that you give are crafted, how much time do you spend on crafting/researching crafts/buying supplies compared to how much time you spend on other activities, etc.)

• When did you start crafting?
   (What was your first craft, who turned you onto crafting, do you still craft with this person, etc.)

• What crafts do you do?
  (Are you a jack of all trades or a focused craft(st)er, how long have you been doing these crafts, etc.)

• Who do you craft with?
  (Who teaches you, who do you teach, do you craft alone or in groups, what age and gender are the people in your craft group, etc.)

• How do people around you feel about your crafts?
  (Do you do it for/because of others or in spite of them, are people appreciate of crafted gifts you give them, do your friends crafts, does your significant other craft, if not how do they feel about your practices, etc.)

• What role do computers play in your crafting?
 (How often do you look to internet sites for inspiration/instruction, do you look at them for a reason other than that, which do you use, Do you use any other computer programs to aid your crafting?)


I am open to any other anecdotes or ideas about crafting.

I am most interested in craft's relation to gender and technology.
