I love this, it's so cute!  What hook size did you use?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Problem with my yarn? on: May 04, 2011 09:31:36 AM
Its cotton.  Its called Cotton Twist.  The pattern calls for half double stitches.  I think I like the idea of blocking.  I can make squares and then put them all together at the end.  I added one block to it going from the top.  I wanted the stitches to go all the same way and thats when the stretching started when I was going up from the right side.  I think I'll make a square of them and piece it together later.  Thanks so much for the help! Its going to look so cute! Cheesy I found a specific dog shrug pattern on ravelry! So excited!

Heh, I don't think that's what she meant about "blocking".  Blocking is a term for when you take your finished object, and depending on the material essentially wet it, stretch/adjust the size of it while pinning it in place on a "blocking mat" which could be anything from a foam mat to a mattress, then allowing it to dry.  Once it dries it will retain the shape/size you made it while it was wet.

So pretty! Looks like a good match up of yarn and pattern, too. Well done ^_^

Thank you Smiley

I'm making a shawl!  First one I've ever made Smiley  Doing it for a Mystery CAL I'm running in my Mystery CAL group on Rav.  It's pretty so far, and I'm really liking the caron Spa yarn.

EDIT:  Also I love the yellow - and the fact you are using tunisian (right?).  Smiley

 I absolutely adore this Cheesy

The purples are so nice and you really crocheted out of the box.

I love this!!!!  The colors are right up my alley.  I probably would have even thrown in some royal purple for an accent to make it even sexier.

Great work!

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Camo Scarf/Hat set for my Metal Man on: January 07, 2011 09:29:09 AM
Ooo you did such a nice job making that set for him.  I wanted to make my bf a scarf but he doesn't wear them so I am on the look out for a hat, I like the camo pattern you chose!

Ps - beautiful BC Rich \m/  I love the white around the edges!!

Thanks!  If you're interested the pattern I used was this free one, Deeply Textured Hat.  I modified it by throwing in at the end a round of HDC, a few rounds of FPDC/BPDC rib, and a SC round to make it fit a little better.

Also the bevel on the BC Rich Beast is actually silver - but I think white would look pretty cool too!  Cheesy
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Camo Scarf/Hat set for my Metal Man on: January 07, 2011 07:48:49 AM
I wanted to make something for DH to show him just how much I appreciate how hard he's been working lately.  He had never owned a scarf before, and needed something to keep his head warm since he shaved off all his pretty long hair!!

He went from "the \m/ metal \m/ Dude":

to this:

and so I made him a beanie and scarf in Camo, Black, and Brown:

Oh, and despite being clean cut now, he's still metal.
