61  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Military related crafts on: July 17, 2005 06:19:14 PM
I don't have any specific craft to keep busy with; as i am "which craft blows my way" type person.

My husband is in the Navy and the best way to pass the time is to keep busy.

You may find military.com and their family section helpful as they have a message board.

You may want to participate in the unit's family support group...the ones associated with my husband's other ships got together at least once a month and it usually involved a craft to send off.

Cheers!

I have "googled" diaper cakes and OMG! you should see what they are charging for them.  i guess if i was a far away aunt i might pay their price instead of creating, packing, and shipping one myself.  But who can't roll a bunch of diapers and get some cute stuff you'd probably buy for the new mom anyway.

Cheers!

What a great idea for leftover Mardi Gras beads!

Thanks for the great idea for my prego's!

Here's my version;  whenever i can figure out how to insert a photo Sad

All i did was take a "premade" receiving blanket and stitched it and the ribbons to fleece.  Turned out great and super easy to do.  Perhaps that's why they don't want us making them.

I just HAD to make one to upset the balance of their precious patent!

Best stitches,

jeannie
