Sorry that i don't have any real sound advice abou being 19 and moving to a place where i knew almost no one.  I moved to go to college out there so i kinda had a built in deal:  i lived on campus, etc.

I suggest perhaps having a plan of going to school or working with a specific company or plan your career.

Make friends with locals that are trustworthy and don't feel loyal to anyone who takes adavantage of you; dump 'em and move on.  That's a luxury of living in large communities.

Bad new for me:  hubster's extension got approved so i won't see you gals until March or April.  Just when it gets pretty here.  but i'll be back in southern california!! YAY
29  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Cheerleading Squad Thank you stuff?? on: December 08, 2005 07:34:15 AM
Before i can help:  what's the team's nickname?  Maybe a magnet based on that like a paw print for Tigers, etc.

Is it a big squad >10?  that's big to me, okay!

Can you replicate the "logo" on your  uniforms to make......that's as far i can get on that one.

I guess a little more info would help me, but these folks here can whip something out of nothing.

adding:  how about a keychain type thing (could be used for a zipper pull on a jacket, backpack, etc.); something in the shape of a megaphone; a spirit stick.....still thinking

I lived in long beach for ten years in the 80's and i dearly miss it!  if it weren't for marrying a sailor i wouldn't have moved from so cal!

I know southern california has changed since but i am so excited that he has orders to San Diego to rediscover.

BTW, i moved to long beach in 1983 just because of the cold winters in Wisconsin.  Hell, I was 19 and knew everything.  Doesn't every 19 year old?
