I'm looking for a pattern that might be a good start for making this white lace dress.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / What to do with Schick Intuition Razor handles??? on: October 10, 2009 09:38:42 PM
I ordered Waaay too many razors on EBay the other day, when all I really wanted was the cartridges. So now I have a ridiculous amount of Schick Intuition Razor handles that I just don't know what to do with! It is so much plastic that it'd be a shame to just throw it all away. So I'm hoping that my fellow craftsters can help! Here's an idea of what I'm working with...

Any ideas?
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Little purses for little girls on: October 10, 2009 09:06:22 PM
My boyfriend's sister asked me to make some little purses for her 18 month old and 3 year old daughters and I jumped at the challenge. Here they are!

For the first one, I took a pattern I found for 99 cents at Joann's and shrunk it to 60 percent of its original size. The bag is corduroy with white tshirt fabric for the straps and edge.

The other bag is actually a makeup bag that I added little straps to. It's also corduroy.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a picture of the girls holding their new bags, but I've been told that they love them!

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dad's old Hawaiian shirt to Flowery Tote on: October 10, 2009 08:34:42 PM
Hi Everyone! This is my first post!!! Wahhoooo!

Anyway, I've been lurking for awhile and admiring everyone's creativity and talent, wishing I had the time to try my hand as well. That all changed when my company when out of business and I was hence laid off. So time was no longer a problem. I've thrown myself full-fledged into the sewing game and am really loving it! So here's the first project I ever created and actually gave to someone.

I took a Hawaiian shirt that my dad was going to throw away, removed the seams and pockets and turned it into a tote bag for my sister!

I worked with what I had: Black dress lining and white velcro. I'm still pretty happy with it. Since then, my stash has grown considerably Wink

Hope you like it! I'll be posting several more items from my first months of sewing. Any comments/criticism/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
