Hey! SO I've been pretty busy lately drafting patterns and sewing dresses. So here is the outcome I have so far.

Hope you like them and let me know what you think!
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Business Name thread - Get opinions and ideas about names for your business! on: November 04, 2013 05:29:24 PM
I'm thinking of opening a shop that specializes in little girl's dresses (from ages 3-6 or maybe even 2-7 eventually). So I was thinking of naming it something that either has to do with a cafe/coffee or maybe a tea party. I was thinking maybe Ann's Petit Cafe(annspetitcafe)  or possibly Ann's Tea party(annsteaparty). (Ann is a shortened version of my full name) I thought the tea party one was cute, but is it too simple? Both are open domain names and I stole the twitter names and tumblr accounts so far.
I'm leaning toward Ann's Tea Party because I thought it was a cute simple name that would go along with my products - little girl's dresses.
Opinions please?!
4  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Slave Leia costume (pic heavy) on: November 01, 2013 01:15:50 PM
So I made this costume because I've been dying to cosplay as her for a while and just never had the confidence to go for it until now. So I just draped everything and went from there. There is a lot of hand sewing done here for the details. I want to wear it the next convention I go to, though I might only wear it for a little while because I'm terrified of possible wardrobe malfunctions.

I also made a little jabba bag to carry around with me so I can have my cell phone and meds on me at all times. his mouth opens a little extra to one side just because I knew I'd end up needing a big opening in the bag to stuff whatever in it.

face details:

So what do you think? Did I do a decent job? Also, I started this costume on wednesday of this week, finished it on thursday and today is friday and I made the Jabba bag today. So considering that time frame, I think I did a pretty decent job.

Wow! Pretty! Of course, she could look a little happier, with all the time and trouble I am sure you put into it!!! Just kidding. She looks to be a sweet sister, and you are a great sister for helping her. I hope she has/had a grand night at the ball!  Grin

haha she was very happy for the dress but I took the picture at an awkward time xD my mother was also taking a picture and my phone took it slower than hers did. lol
But thank you! She had a great time and loved the dress and decided to wear it for halloween and be Cinderella!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Sister's homecoming dress. on: October 18, 2013 03:17:21 PM
So about a week and a half ago, my sister decided she wanted me to make her a dress for her homecoming dance... The dance is tonight. So I took her measurements and had her find a dress she liked online so I could make her one. She picked a short poofy one with the midsection exposed and told me what she wanted changed on it and what she wanted to keep. I said alright and got to work on making the pattern.
There were a lot of twerks that needed working out: from having to take it in at the waist, to have to add more fabric to the back so it covered a little more, to adding in some boning. But all in all I think it came out very nicely.
Here's the dress hanging up:

And here's the dress on her:

So what do you think? Cheesy
