I sewed this as a gift for a friend of hubby and I, to wear when he drives his 57 Chevy.  He loves it, and here it is modelled fabulously by hubby, who is a bit shy, so I cropped his head Smiley

I love the pastel colours in this dress.  I modified a regular bodice for the scallop Smiley
Closes at the back with snaps.  Cambridge lace at the bottom.

I used some half round dowel, it would have been approx 1" diameter, and then I used medium sided nails for the spools, and little nails for the bobbins.  Drill the holes first, make is easier to get the nails in the right place Cheesy
