1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Holiday Helpers Swap? on: June 22, 2012 06:32:55 AM
I know there is another christmas swap running right now, but I would love a larger swap with a long craft time to get gifts for friends/family. What you you all think? I am thinking a 2 month craft time with a minimum of 7 points? You would give a list of 3 people you want your partner to craft for and what items those people would like.

Here is the previous round.

Any interest?
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / A swap like the christmas stocking swap? on: December 15, 2011 03:55:50 PM
I really liked the christmas stocking swap. I was wondering if anyone would want to do another round, except this time you could craft any type of container (bag, box, etc). The rules would be the same as the christmas swap, so you could choose to do a small, medium or large package. I am thinking a long crafting time, make 6-8 weeks, depending on what you all think. Any interest?
3  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Another Angel Needed For Givers and Needers 9 on: September 02, 2011 08:50:42 AM
An angel package never showed up, so we need another angel who can send crochet supplies. The is for a supply package, not for crafted items. You can pick the size of the package. Please PM me if you can angel.

I would love to receive some crochet yarns and hooks. I've been wanting to learn to do amigurumis and hats. We don't have a lot of craft stores here and I am having a really hard time finding thicker yarns and larger hooks here. Most of the things I find are either crochet threads or yarns that are of fingering thickness. The only shop I know where I can find thicker yarns has them priced so expensively and I'm kind of stuck with using the thinner yarns and it's been putting a damper on my excitement to do crochet. At the moment the only crochet equipment I have are some acrylic yarns, crochet threads, and three hooks (1.75mm, 2.3mm, and 3mm). And I know I'm way overseas for most people on craftster so if I ever get into this swap, I'd be so grateful to receive even just a couple of things.
4  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Givers and Needer 9: One More Angel Needed on: July 19, 2011 08:20:42 AM
We need 1 more angel for this swap. Please contact me if you can angel. The angel will have 2 weeks to ship and must send a package worth at least a medium. The item(s) should be crafted and not store bought (of course you can sent any extras you want).

Limited to a certain number of people? No, I will get a co-org or PM a swap mod if necessary.

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No

If you are in the US, please consider shipping internationally. Light kits may not be as expensive as you might think. For reference, if you ship first class international (not priority, and not the flat rate priority boxes), it would be $5.01 for a one pound package to Canada and $10.76 for one to the UK. If you dont want to send all you kits internationally, just tell me in your signup. For example, maybe you can only afford to send one kit internationally but can send 3 kits total. Or maybe it is too expensive to send your book binding kit internationally, but you can on the other kits. Or you will ship to North America but not overseas. Just let me know. To avoid confusion, please be a clear as possible.

Also, remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find other rules about participating in a swap.

To give you ideas, I will list all the kits people are offering and what they want to learn. Go ahead and sign up. If you see something you want to add to your list later, that is no problem. DETAILS OF SWAP

Welcome to the Givers and Needers swap!

Givers will send a box of craft supplies to a very grateful needer.  In return, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you helped someone continue their love of crafting, plus a small thank you gift.  Although there is no size specification, please ensure that you are sending a box that you would be happy to receive.

Needers will receive a box of supplies from a very generous giver.  In return, they will send a thank you gift that is the equivalent of a small. The thank you gift does not need to be crafted from the supplies the giver sends.

This is a great way to de-stash and help a fellow crafter out who may for various reasons need some supply help.

If you would like to be both a Giver and a Needer (say you have an excess of fabric to help a beginning sewer, but just started knitting and need yarn), that is allowed.

Please put Givers and Needers Round 9 in all PM subjects.  I reserve the right to refuse ANYONE based on late sending, history of incomplete packages, etc, etc.  Also, should your needs be something that no givers are offering, you may be contacted about changing your questionnaire. You must have swapped at least once before to join this swap as a needer.  The questionnaire should be sent to CraftAddiction. All other communication (sent/received/late/questions/partner MIA, etc.) should be sent to both CraftAddiction and icebyrd67

If you want to participate, information to send to CraftAddiction, please fill out thoroughly:

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Super Mario Bros Afghan on: February 19, 2011 11:32:28 AM
I made this for Schnerby in a swap. I was thinking of making some sort of Mario themed afghan for her and then I saw one of her first posts on this site. It was a color chart for a Mario quilt. It was a sign. I couldn't resist  Smiley So it is made from her own pattern. The link to the chart was dead so I just used the image she posted and took it into PCStitch to make a chart. There isn't a pattern, but one isn't needed. It is all Tunisian simple stitch.
