3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Little Gang on: April 22, 2010 09:20:18 AM

For mouth, nose and also the pink and orange nose of Tigger I used embroidery.  Arms and legs are sewn to the body. The tail and hair of Eeyore is inserted with a crochet hook and then split. The first Pooh Bear had a round head and although he had the colors and everything of Pooh Bear he looked like an ordinary bear: Pooh Bear is not Pooh without this egg-head shape. So I redid the head and now he looks like Pooh. Tigger looks actually a bit sad! More sad than Eeyore. Next time I will try to catch his happy spirit. The most proud I am of Eeyore. He is really adorable.

I used the following materials:

1) 3.00 mm hook
2) 4 ply yarns (cream, yellow, red, light pink, pink, orange, black and blue)
3) Black embroidery floss
4) Polyester fiberfill
5) Two 4 mm black beads for eyes (for bear)
6) Six 2 mm black beads for eyes (for piggie, tiger and donkey)
7) Tapestry needle
8) Sewing needle and thread for attaching eyes

These dolls are about 3" (7.5 cm) tall

Below are some pictures of making the dolls:

4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Alice in Wonderland, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and Mad Hatter on: March 30, 2010 06:40:54 PM

These are my own design. I started with Alice, after came the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat. Alice in Wonderland I based on a doll I made before (Daisy) and was easy. The Cheshire Cat I got the arms and legs wrong the first time. I abandoned the first one and made the Cheshire Cat from scratch again. In all I worked on them for five weeks.

Size of Alice: 8.5" (21.5 cm)
The White Rabbit: 6" (15.5 cm) (Excluding ears)
The Cheshire Cat: 6.5" (16.5 cm).

For materials I used:
  • 3.00 mm hook
  • 4 ply yarn (cream,black,blue,white,yellow,orange,red,light pink,purple)
  • Mohair yarn (yellow for hair)
  • Black embroidery floss
  • Polyester fiberfill
  • Black 8 mm buttons for Alice's eyes
  • Three 4 mm white beads
  • Two 4 mm black beads for White Rabbit's eyes
  • Tapestry needle
  • Sewing needle and thread for attaching eyes and beads
  • 10" (25 cm) Pipe cleaner or iron wire for tail of cat
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Hobbes on: March 22, 2010 07:43:51 AM

I made Hobbes for my son. He has like all little boys a big imagination like Calvin.  He is very big: 25.5" / 65 cm. It took me 3 weeks to make him. I've used a 4.00 mm hook
and Worsted weight yarns.

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Cheshire Cat on: March 15, 2010 06:42:21 AM

The Cheshire Cat is the cat of the Duchess. Alice meets it when she leaves the Duchess house, and finds it in a tree. It constantly grins and can disappear and reappear whenever it likes. Sometimes it disappears and leaves its grin behind.

So far I have created the White Rabbit, Alice and Wonderland and the Cheshire Cat. Still have to make the Mad Hatter one day.
