1  Re: Kingdom Hearts Swap! GALLERY!!! in The Swap Gallery by seamaiden75 on: December 26, 2010 11:27:09 PM
Hey everyone! I hope that everyone had a great Christmas! I know I did! Ariethine I am so extremely sorry for not getting these up sooner. Things have been a mad house around here. Ariethine sent me a super awesome package and without any further delays here are pictures! Smiley

First up a group picture.

First she sent 3 super cute paopu fruits! One for me, my husband and daughter! They are absolutely adorable!!! Ariethine did a super great job on them! We love them! Thank you so much!

Next up is a wonderful crochet hook holder that she did in a starry night fabric (for the spaceship travel and planet hopping). Awesome! I have my wooden handled crochet hooks in there. Wink I only have 2 at the moment but am planning on getting more since I love them!

And last but not least (my daughter so loves you for this!) she made the most AMAZING drawing tips and doodles folder with 8 full pages and a chibi Axel on the cover! This is amazing and my daughter swiped it up so fast I had to fight her to get a picture!

Thank you so much Ariethine! You are an amazing talented artist and crafter and I apoligize again for not honoring your hard work by getting these pictures up faster! Thank you so much for being my swap partner!!!

3  Kingdom Hearts Heartless with tutorial *Corrections in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by seamaiden75 on: October 06, 2010 09:36:07 PM
I recently had the opportunity to work on this pattern again and found some mistakes. I hope that this hasn't caused too much headache. If anyone finds anymore please don't hesitate to let me know and I will correct them.
Hey everyone! So incredibly sorry that it has taken me so long to get this posted. I have been completely swamped lately with swaps and life in general. I tried last week to post this. Spent 2 hours typing it all out hit preview then hit a wrong button and two hours worth of work went away. Ugh. But anyway here it is. Smiley If you find any errors or have any questions about any part of the pattern please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll do my best to help. Thanks!

Heartless Crochet Pattern

Supplies:
Size F crochet hook
Black worsted weight yarn (I used Caron One Pound but I couldve made 3 from that.
Small amount of bright yellow worsted weight yarn
Stuffing
6 Black Pipe Cleaners (3 per antennae)
4 size 12 safety eyes
Yarn Needle
Stitch Marker

Key:
Sc - single crochet
St - Stitch
Inc - increase
Dec - decrease
Hdbl - Half Double Crochet

Please follow pattern in the order that I have it. It may not make sense now but believe me it makes it a whole lot faster and easier.

Legs Make 2
Black Yarn
1. Magic Loop - 6
2. Inc around - 12 start marking your stitch rows
3. 1 sc, 1 sc Inc, repeat, 1 hdbl, 1 hdbl Inc, repeat, 1 sc, 1 sc Inc, repeat - 18
4. 2 sc, sc Inc, repeat, 2 hdbl, 1 hdbl Inc, repeat, 2 sc, sc Inc, repeat - 24

8. Sc 9, Dec 3 times, sc 9 - 21
9. Sc 9, Dec 3 times, sc 6 - 18
10. 10 - 24 sc around
Take one of the safety eyes and push it through row 23 so that it sits right below the top. (It should look like a doll joint) Whip stitch closed and hide tail in leg.
Repeat for other leg but make sure you have a right and a left before closing up the last leg. Set aside

Arms Make 2
Black Yarn
1. Magic Loop - 6
2. Inc each sc around - 12

Leave long tail for sewing head to body later.

Eyes
Bright Yellow
1. Magic Loop 6
2. Inc each sc around -12
3. Sc 1, Inc, around - 18
Fasten Off leaving tail to sew onto head later.
Theres no need to weave in the tail from the magic loop just make sure its tucked in behind the eye when you sew it on. It makes it puff out a little better.

Antennae
Black yarn
Take 3 pipe cleaners twist the tops together and then start braiding until about a inch and a half from the bottom. Take the top that is twisted together and turn under about a half inch or so (it doesn't have to be exact) so that there will be no sharp edges poking out of the top.
1. Magic Loop 4
2. Sc inc, sc 3 - 5
3. 3-10 sc around -5
11. Sc inc, sc 4 - 6
12. 12-20 sc around - 6

22. 22-30 sc around - 7
31. Sc inc, sc 6 - 8
32. 32-45 sc around
Fasten off leaving tail to sew to head.

Head
Black yarn
1. Magic Loop 6
2. Sc inc each st around - 12
3. Sc, inc, repeat around - 18
4. 2 sc, inc, repeat around - 24
5. 3 sc, inc, repeat around - 30
6. 4 sc, inc, repeat around - 36
7. 5 sc, inc, repeat around - 42
8. 6 sc, inc, repeat around - 48
9. 7 sc, inc, repeat around - 54
10. 10-18 sc around -54
19. Sc 7, dec, repeat around - 48
20. Sc 6, dec, repeat around - 42
21. Sc 5, dec, repeat around - 36
22. Sc 4, dec, repeat around - 30

Stop - insert the 3 bottom pipe cleaners from each antennae into the top of head, then spread the pipe cleaners out and lay flat against head turning down each end so that it can't poke someone later. I wait until I stuff the head to sew on just because I think its easier.

23. Sc 3, dec, repeat around - 24
24. Sc 2, dec, repeat around - 18 stuff head firmly
25. Sc 1, dec, repeat around - 12
26. Dec around until closed (There is no need to leave a tail since you will be using the tail left from the body to sew the head on.)

Sew the antennae onto head.
Sew eyes onto head.
Sew head to body.
All done!

4  Electronic Cigarette Case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by seamaiden75 on: September 28, 2010 01:11:20 AM
Ok I'm not sure if this is actually the right place to put this so if not mods please feel free to move it.
I have been working off and on this case for weeks now and I'm pretty proud of it as this is the first time I have taken a sewing idea from concept to pattern to finished item ever!!! Let me explain a little bit. My husband and I both smoke (no not in the house) I know very very bad for you. Anyway we are trying really REALLY hard to quit and we've gotten into these electronic cigarettes. Two different kinds Vapure which gave me a case as part of a deal they were having and Totally Wicked which is what this case is made for. They sell cases on the website but they are $25 each and I really don't have an extra $50 just lying around but I wanted something that I could keep everything in all nice neat and organized. So I decided how I wanted to have it and what I wanted to put in it, drew out an outline for it, cut it out, sewed it together and Wa La! A custom electronic cigarette case. Yea!!! And Bonus I like mine way better than the one they are selling on the website anyway. Way more girly! Smiley

On the left side there are 1 atamizer (which is what produces the vapor), 1 extra mouthpiece, a place for tweezers which I don't have in there yet (the tweezers are for getting the batting in and out of the mouthpiece), 2 extra batteries and 1 electronic cigarette already put together. The right side holds a paper towel on top (it's for cleaning the parts or blowing out the atamizer if it gets clogged) and 2 bottles of e-juice. I'm starting to get into mixing my own concoctions. Smiley The bottle on the left is Chocolate Caramel and the one on the right is Pear yum!!

Oh by the way yes the extra mouthpiece that I have is different from the one on there. At home I usually just drip the juice onto the atamizer but in the car it's kinda hard to do where as with the other one you don't have to you just fill it up and vape away. Smiley
FYI for those people who are not familiar with electronic cigarettes. They give you nicotine (doesn't cause cancer) but none of the other bad stuff like tar and poison and what you are blowing out is just a water vapor. So it's great I get to keep my habit (there by not lose my mind and possibly kill my hubby or kid the next time they make me lose it) but lose the stuff that might kill me or anyone around me. Win win!

Ok first I'd like to apologize to my partner for taking so long to get these posted. I got my package yesterday and I took a ton of pictures but I wanted to wait until I had time to post these properly. Smiley
First up the box and all the fabulous wrapping!

Her daughter even sent me a picture and she sent me a cool page of bats! Still trying to decide what to do with it. But I'll figure it out! Smiley

Day 13
SharLaMarz made me a box instead of a bag and it is so AWESOME!!! I'm using it to hold all of my vintage embroidery patterns. They were all just in a plain brown box so this is soooo much better!

Ok I might need to explain that setting up the Halloween village is what my husband loves to do for Halloween. Smiley
My Hubby says Thank you, Thank you, thank you! He loved everything!

and now for ME!!!

Ok you have no idea how many times I walked by those skeleton ornaments at Michael's and wanted to get one but didn't! So it just makes getting this one that much more awesome!
I think I've figured out that the pumpkins and skeletons in the bag are play dough but I haven't figured out what to do with them just yet. I'll think of something. Smiley
Oh and I love those swirly lollipops too!!! Thank you, Thank you, thank you Shara!!!

She has a new home in my crafting room now. Smiley Love her!

Couldn't post this picture until my partner opened up day 9. I LOVED the Halloween tree on her wist so much that when I decided to make her one I made one for myself too. Smiley The ornaments on mine are slightly different than hers because I didn't have a chance to finish my ornaments until after I had already mailed hers off. By the way Shara that one was my favorite too! LOL!!!

Day 7
On the 7th day of Halloween my swap partner gave to me! An AMAZING twisted copper wire Halloween Spooky Tree!!!!

Don't know whether this was intentional or not but it is the PERFECT size for our Halloween Village!!!!

Some cool fabric that I used to make you a _____________.

And lastly we have some crochet that is still in progress. Hoping to get that project finished up tomorrow.

Just a little taste of what I've been busy working on. Smiley

Hey Everybody! OMG!!! I got irrid3sc3nt's package today and it is the BOMB!!! Love it! Warning Very Image Heavy!!

First a shot of everything right out of the box.

Ok since you can already see the charm bracelet I'm going to post pictures of that first. The charm bracelet has a witch theme. There are 7 (my lucky number being born on July 7th) vintage witch picture charms (which I absolutely love!!!), then there's a silver charm of a cat, a moon with a star and a frog, then there are the awesome beads as you can see. I love it sooo much! I have been wanting a charm bracelet for a long time! I see them on etsy all the time and can never afford them so thank you again.

an action shot (I had my 13 year old take it and it might not look that great but it actually works out because you can't see any of the stuff behind me that I'm working on for SharLaMarz for the Mini 13 day swap so no spoilers). Wink

Then she sent me an awesome cute note pad, which I'm going to keep right next to me on my little crafting tray.
It's called Little Lanterns and the artwork is by Johanna Parker.

Then even more AWESOMENESS! She hand painted me a snaggletooth wicked witch on a wooden hand made lazy susan! She told me it's an adaption from the Pop Ink "Goth-Icky" book. Gonna have to get that book by the way! My husband loves it he said it kinda reminds him of the witch on the Halloween Bugs Bunny cartoon! LOL! I love it!! I don't want to even put anything on it because it'll cover up the picture. Smiley Irrid3sc3nt you are so talented I could never free hand paint a great image like that. Thank you so much!!!

One last picture of everything but the chocolate covered orange marshmallow pumpkins (I shared those with my husband and daughter). Sorry I didn't get a good picture of it but I also love the Jack-O-Lantern Post stamp that she put on the orange colored paper note that she sent me.

Thanks again so much for everything irrid3sc3nt!!! I absolutely loved everything! Smiley You've been an awesome swap partner!!

8  Kingdom Hearts Heartless in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by seamaiden75 on: July 24, 2010 01:29:43 AM
My stepson got to come out to visit us last month. He's really loves Kingdom Hearts and I wanted to make him something so I decided to make him a Heartless from the Kingdom Hearts game. He's 16 so I wasn't sure whether he would consider himself too old for a stuffie but he loved it. Smiley

Now I get to make my 13 year old daughter one. Smiley

Ok I finally posted the pattern for him here:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=361429.0

I'm so extremely sorry that it has taken me so long to post this pattern. Thanks for your patience. Smiley

9  Re: All Things Hayao Miyazaki Swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by seamaiden75 on: June 26, 2010 11:23:30 AM
Hi Everyone! We got back from our trip at 8am this morning after driving all night and Woo HOO look what was waiting for me!!!!

I was totally excited just to see the box waiting on me but totally freaked out when I saw what was inside!!!! Puccalove you are the MOST AWESOME AMAZING PARTNER!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
First up we have Turniphead from Howl's Moving Castle! Awesome details! LOVE IT!

Next up a pair of crocheted fish. I'm pretty sure they are from Ponyo but not too sure what they are for. Please forgive me but we drove all night and I've had like 1 hour of sleep if that so I'm a little brain dead. They are awesome and I'm sure as soon as I know what they are for I'll probably go duh!

I had mentioned that I would really like an on the go bag for carrying my crochet or embroidery in all the ones I have were either too small or too big. So Puccalove made me not 1, not 2, but 3 different sized bags!!! Now I will always have a perfect size bag to carry my stuff with me!!!! They are completely PERFECT and I LOVE THEM!!! Pucca you have awesome sewing skills!!
First and smallest bag has Soot Sprites!!

Medium size bag has Gigi from Kiki's Delivery Service!!!!

Biggest Bag has Totoro!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all of them!!!
Here's a picture of the whole package. Smiley

It took me a few minutes to notice but she even decorated the box from Howl's Moving Castle!!!! Too Cool!!

Thank you so much for everything! This has been a perfect first swap!!!! Smiley

10  Trixie Pixie in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by seamaiden75 on: May 12, 2010 04:33:45 PM
Introducting Trixie the Pillow Pixie! Smiley I bought Peggytoes Pillow Pixie pattern on Etsy last year with the intention of making one for my daughter and one for her friend. Well I finally got around to making her! I'm keeping this one though since I really did her the way I wanted her and not how my daughter would have wanted her. So now I get to make three more! Because my friend asked me to make her one now. Ugh! LoL. She took me about a week and a half to make but I think now that I've gotten the hang of it, it wouldn't take me quite as long next time.
