21  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Makeshift seating for dinner party? on: February 07, 2005 01:23:01 PM
So, without taking logistics into consideration, DH and I decided to host a low-key Valentines Day dinner party. It has turned into a nightmare. There will be approx. 20 people, so weve decided to do potluck with assignments. My biggest concern is seating we do NOT have enough table space for 20 people.

So, heres my idea. I was thinking of making some temporary tables by using some cinder blocks and plywood sheets from the hardware store, and covering them with a tablecloth. They would be low to the ground, so people would just sit on the floor. Would this be dumb? I would decorate it with candles, flowers, etc. I dont know how else this is going to work.

Gah. Seriously we need to learn to keep our mouths shut until we work through details!

22  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Crazy, bizarre, outdoor wedding link to pics & crafts on: January 21, 2005 08:24:22 AM
(I was inspired to post this after posting a few pics in the wedding crafts thread I posted this in the modge podge thread toobut thought this would be an appropriate x-post)

It was a crazy, crazy day complete with big-screen movies, dogs, bonfires, mosquitoes, glowsticks, fairies, 3 bands (bluegrass, 80's hair band covers, techno), and lets not forget the modge podge... Not your typical wedding! It was almost ALL DIY it can be done!

I have a knot bio with lots of pictures and ideas at http://www.theknot.com/co_profileview.htm?profilename=so_not_boring (yeah, I was a Knot junkie for awhile there)

Enjoy!
