1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Indian Skirt on: September 01, 2009 09:04:01 AM
I've been hunting everywhere for a pattern or even just advice on how to make an Indian skirt. A lot of the traditional ones seem to be full skirts but I was after one of the slightly more modern ones that are more slim fitting through the waist and thighs and then more flared at the bottom.

I have some beautiful Indian gold and blue satin stuff(terribly descriptive)... do I cut it straight or biased cut?

Is it better to cut a slim skirt and add triangle panels at the bottom of the skirt or cut shaped pieces?

Any help please...

Two images to give you an idea of what I'm talking about, hope it's okay to post links!! I know one is an organza type fabric... I'm just trying to give you an idea of what I'm on about!
