1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Floppy Disks as Coasters? on: October 11, 2009 06:10:24 PM
Does anyone have any good ideas on how to turn a floppy disk into a drink coaster while preserving the picture on the floppy? My mom has been cleaning out her house and can't seem to throw these old floppy disks away because they have pictures of Disney characters on them! We could use them as is but I think the condensation would just run off of the floppy disk onto the table because there's nothing to soak up the moisture. Would some kind of ridge around the edge look silly? Or is there some kind of sealer that can be applied that is porous enough to suck up condensation? It would just be a shame to throw them away! They're cute and at this point, a valuable piece of ancient history!
