Admittedly I am a little rough with my machines (I'll try sewing through almost anything Roll Eyes ) I had no problems at all.
Well that is good to know! So, new needle, only through areas without thick embellishments or glitter, and worry less about my machine! got it! Thanks!  Cheesy

These are beautiful!

I have been experimenting with making fabric paper, but have been afraid to gum up my sewing machine by sewing through the glue and various textures (paint, glitter, gel mediums etc). Did you have any concerns or problems sewing through this?

Sheepblue - I love your art!

Yikes - I seem to have misplaced February... just not sure where it went....

So, I finally finished a couple more projects (honestly I finished them earlier in the month but am just getting them posted now)

First, these are number magnets on a metal whiteboard that I made for a child of a friend of mine. To get the look, I painted the wood disks a light yellow and then when dry I painted them blue. Once that was dry I sanded the edges and took some of the blue color off, added the numbers and then used a spray resin on them.

I also made something for his sister. She likes hair accessories, so I made her a box to hold her hair pretties in.
(sorry for the messy table shots!)

I added ribbon on both sides so that she could put hair clips/bands that wouldn't fit into the drawers.

An action shot. You can just see inside the drawers - I painted the sided super glittery and put some brown velour type fabric on the bottom of the drawers.

Super cute! I love the neckline - very flattering and cute! As someone who doesn't sew, I am in absolute awe that you made that without a pattern!

So many awesome projects!

Silvermoon - such a cute zero!

Bushbaby - oh! Poppy is so super cute! And the sweater just adds to her cuteness! Smiley

sheepBlue - adorable coaster!

kbrison - your purple hats are fantastic and I love seeing all the work people do for charities!

libertine49 - your wall looks awesome!

carolmb - gorgeous quilt!

I spent yesterday making one sheet of fabric paper (not finished yet) - super fun but a very long process for something that I don't know if it will turn out or really what I will do with it once done! A question for those of you who are sewers - will it gumm up my sewing machine if I am sewing through glue and gel medium? I am thinking that I should hand sew but I like the look of the machine sewed pieces that I have seen...

Love the necklace and love the sentiment behind it. I wish I had gotten my grandmother's sewing stuff - I don't sew either, but I would love to have something like this of hers to wear!

I made a purse for a really cool fundraiser spearheaded by an amazing 4-year-old to raise money for the endangered Asian elephants! Her mom is on C-ster and I'm sure many of you know her! Smiley

I know that she was thrilled/touched when she found out that you were making something for the fundraiser! And it is such a super cute elephant purse!!
