81  Rose Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by DawnsTrees on: May 28, 2010 01:19:49 AM
I have been experimenting with various materials recently. This is one of my experiments that I am relatively pleased with...

The roses I made with polymer clay. I had some trouble coming up with the red that I wanted, but I got fairly close with this very deep, dark red (the picture looks a tad orange, but it really isn't).

I had really wanted dark green stones for this, but the jade beads I had my heart set on were SO expensive... so I "settled" for some stones on sale (I was grumpy that I had to settle - which is probably why I don't remember what these are... Roll Eyes). I am actually very pleased with them now - they are a very pretty light green stone with dark green streaks (reminds me a bit of moss agate, but I am not sure).

(This is my first post of my work so I have a quick question... is it normal to be this nervous? Grin)

I received a WONDERFUL box from dawn0684 today! I had just gone and mailed my package to cxcaitlyn (so it will be there in a couple of days!!!) and when I came back I had my box! So exciting! There were some great beads (black tube beads, pink and white glass beads, little die beads, and six super cute plastic bottles with colored beads!), yarn (a beautiful wine red, a gorgeous grey, pine green, white, and a fun fluffy blue), fabric (a luscious brown, pink polk-a-dots, a tie die, and a purple), clay, wire, wooden balls, a glass jar (also with some beads!), a crochet ring, thread, adorable ribbon, and some really pretty fabric napkins!  My girls and I were thrilled to go through it and already have plans for some of the fabric, and my daughter is working on a bracelet with some of the thread as I type!
Here are pictures of all the great stuff!

And my daughter's bracelet already using some of the supplies:

Thank you! I am looking forward to using all of this!
