this is now my most used pincushion! I only stuffed a ball of fabric in a dollar store plastic cauldron Smiley

I wish it could be more obvious but, this is a pink pincushion. and a really tiny one.
made out of a tiny votive holder.

114  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hogwarts messenger bag on: September 25, 2009 07:44:08 PM

I'm actually REALLY proud of this. It's my first tentative at doing something with a sewing machine!
I went from scratch. The fabric actually was maternity pants. I doubled the inside with purple and pink felt.

I made this for a HP personal swap. She really wanted a bag and I thought I could give a try!
there's lots of imperfections, but I think she'll love it anyway- even if the side are not even - oups!-

I painted the Hogwarts crest on a white fabric and handstiched it. I took a belt, cut it in half to make the band (and it's a tad too short...) I also improvised with the D ring closer Smiley

Closer look at the crest:

thanks for watching!
115  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Luna Lovegood on: September 04, 2009 08:46:09 PM

I'm actually really proud of it!
I'm reallllly bad at sewing... and I'm starting to see the *faint* light!

The cloak looks way better than I expected!

Now I wish I had done her some arms.... well it's not too late. But I got a Snape to do, too
The hair are KK from a scrap fake dread I had. The face was done with shapries. the pompoms are what was the most raddish looking thing I had on hand.
I might want to find a paler blue fabric for the scarf.
Any comment to improve it will be welcomed!
It's for a swappie so I want it to be as nice as it could be.

My bf wanted to keep it for himself, but I said I'd make him one for his xmas stockings Smiley He could not tell his fav charac, though!

thanks for looking!
116  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Yet some other painted kid stuff! on: September 03, 2009 07:45:20 PM
You wll find a theme going on here:

Me and another girl on another forum HEF, organized a swap between us too.
Since we both have babies we decided that one item had to be for the baby. Of course, I did 2 more.
They are done with the same technique as my other posts. Those need to be iron (or machine dryed).
My swapie's fav HP character is Luna, and her fav quote is on the t-shirt.
I'm almost done with a Luna plush -only needs the butterbeer necklace- and I've done some nice slythie armwarmers (stolen from a vest) that need a dark mark added to them. I'll post them in the right catergorie when they are done!
Hopefully, My swapie does not hang out here so this post don't spoil her the surprise Smiley

I would have make my daughter model (as she LOVES to be photograph!) but she was on a really grumpy teething mode this week....
117  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A few painted textil projects (img fat!) on: August 29, 2009 07:06:48 PM

Here's a dress for my daughter. I might be obligated to post it in the children thread but I'm not sure if there a '1 thread a week' rule or something in here (thanks in advance to let me know!)

modeling...
...And closup.

Now; when I was pregnant, I got free pregnant cloths. It's cool.. but boring. I altered some to fit my style a little more:
http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs25/f/2008/117/f/3/Cherry_Top_by_VULGARlouis.png This one is fat. It's a black top with cherries (a lot of them!)

sorry for the hugeness of the post, but I did not want to spam everyone with 8 new thread or so....

Thanks for looking!

And this is a gift for a friend:

And those are request from my sis-in-law:

118  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Onesie and shoes on: August 28, 2009 09:49:29 PM
Hi everybody!
I'm new in here and I realllllly reallly like it so far. So many things! so much inspirations!

First I need to say: I don't know how to sew. I'm really good at others things. But not sewing. and it makes me sad sometimes....
but this time I was pretty pleased!
Let me present you my daughter modeling Butterbeer the Crab onesie.
All I did was handsewing the 12 pieces of fabric to it the best I could.

now I won't close up more. You would see all the fault. (there's a lot of them!)
I love it! Too bad she ruined it with food... Sad

and another project, correct me if I place it in the wrong section. (there is so many! I get lost easily in here!)

These are shoes that I found at goodwill. size 2 (already outgrown...)
they were all pink with white shoelace... A tad boring.

But with little help from black acrylic paint and textile medium, they became really nice punky girly shoes Smiley

thanks for looking at my first show-off!
