11  Re: A Week of Baby Onesies Swap Round 6 GALLERY (Send-Out 4/20/11) in The Swap Gallery by hugarobot on: April 19, 2011 03:08:30 AM
August's onesies came today!!! Teffy did such a cute job! I am really glad I got a size up from what he's in now because although they might fit just a little loose for now, we will be able to get so much more use out of them. I didn't get the package until I got home from class-it was pretty near his bed time so no action shots yet but I am going to try and get some today (my fiance won't stop snoring....I've been up since 3:30. Just to whine a little). Anyway, onto the pics.

Here they are all together. Gus approves.

Individual shots: my favorite! I had this on my wist, I think she did such a cute job that I even asked if she minded if I sort of copied (well not copy-copied but you guys know what I mean) her version instead for someone else Smiley

A sweet little robot-I'm hoping I can get a really good picture of this one on August-the flash on my camera was really washing these out but when I turned it off it obviously got blurry and it's hard to see the cute little details

a tie, for when he needs to look like a gentleman. my fiance really loved this one

DINO!! http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=448321&ppuser=189833

and some bold stars, this one is Gus' favorite. He's still sleeping beside it...

Thanks so much, Teffy! I love them & I can't wait for you to get yours soon.

12  Super Noah!! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by hugarobot on: August 19, 2010 08:57:33 AM
My friend's son is turning 4 & his birthday party is this weekend. She just put out the invites Monday, so that didn't leave a lot of time for gift making! I wanted to make him some dress-up clothes, hopefully I will be able to get a couple more things done between now & then (a cowboy vest & sheriffs badge & a pirate vest & eye patch, nothing major) but I am running on very limited time :/. So for now, the Super Noah! cape. Please don't mind the messy sewing room pics or bad lighting; I took them at 6am so no sunshine for nice outside shots. And it needs pressed,(or maybe just air fluffed in the dryer!); I used my machine to do the raw edge applique. It's the first time I've gotten to use any of the fancy stitches on my machine!

C&C welcome, thanks for looking!

13  Richard Scarry presents in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by hugarobot on: November 14, 2009 07:47:19 AM
SO, a few days before seeing the post hollyrh made a few weeks ago about the Richard Scarry Busytown birthday party she threw for her son, we received an invite to a little fella's 1st birthday party. I always get kids a book for their birthday; after seeing her post I got inspired to give this kiddo a Richard Scarry themed present, myself (hope you don't mind, I promise it really was inspiration not blatent rip-off!!)

I busted out my childhood fav, Richard Scarry's Mother Goose to use as reference for the characters and set to work making a Huckle cat hat & Lowly worm stuffed animal.

Huckle Cat hat is made from a shrunken, angora sweater I picked up at Goodwill. His patches & all that detailing is felt...it doesn't look nearly as much like Huckle as I had hoped but oh well.

Lowly is all hand sewn felt, about 3ft long and so soft! I am really pleased with how he turned out...

14  Photo Assignment: reflection in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by hugarobot on: October 31, 2009 11:30:22 AM
A few photos from a class project. The only tweaking I did was changing them from color to BW...

15  an elephant for Nia in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by hugarobot on: August 28, 2009 07:28:24 AM

I stitched this little guy up from a Simplicity (I think...) pattern for the daughter of a good friend. I haven't made a stuffed animal in almost a year & this is the first time I've made a stuffed animal without getting frustrated, throwing a mild tantrum and trying to pawn it off on my mom. In other words, this was really easy!

He doesn't actually sit all wonky, I was just in a hurry to get out the door with him & there are some spots where I messed up but I think it gives him character, haha.
