I love the use of the bottlecap!  Your puzzle is pulling together nicely sirmamabear--I forgot--what was your theme?

lots of happy mail for you sg1psychopath!  can't wait to see your puzzle!

My theme is purple, high heals and bears.   Looking forward to the next round to fill in some more blank spots.

Just love seeing all the finished puzzles.  A wonderful variety of styles.

Got 2 more pieces from Jesa last night.  I love the black one with the flower.  Pretty sure the flower is was a bottle cap in a former life.  As some one who makes stuff from junk,  I always appreciate the cleverness of finding new uses for stuff.

At hobby lobby yesterday they had some blank puzzle pieces.  One was 2 interlocking kids, one boy and one girl.  I could easily see a family tree done with those.

Also for found this at http://www.thetoymaker.com/toypages/39jigsawpuzzles/Jigsaw.pdf.   It is a printable puzzle page.  No need to worry about mail time.  Also if that knife slips,  just make another.

There are few others online,  just search for free printable jigsaw puzzle,  but the one from toymaker is the only blank one I found.

Also though not a true puzzle,  I could see tetris game shapes working well.

Just some random thoughts to hopefully help others get random thoughts.

For round 3 I am going to stick with the same still have a bunch of pieces left. For the next puzzle I would love to do a dollhouse type them.  I have this image of dollhouse apartment type thing,  with each piece being a different room.

I just love this idea.  Are the legs just knotted fabric ribbons?  Or is that the beaded part.  Just can not tell from the photo.

Thanks for the complements.   Not sure if eyelets would work for the center most part there is not a lot of room to hit things with a hammer.  That is why I was thinking of beads or buttons next time.

The idea for this was taken from http://blog.betzwhite.com/2009/12/felt-ogee-ornament-tutorial.html. She did her's with felt. Well felt is not my medium of choice, but I loved the look and did mine with green plastic from a Mountain dew 2 litter bottle. You can get 2 six inch squares from 1 bottle. I did cut/melt mine with a soldering iron but a pair of scissors and small hole punch would work. I used brads to attach it, though next time I might use something different, not sure if I like the fact that I can see the prongs. Might use some brass beads.

My other regret is that it did not fit in my light box, the picture does not show it in the best light.

I received my first pieces from Sirmamabear today!! She decorated two pieces in my book/library/reading theme. I'm sorry the pictures aren't great, but the finish on both pieces is a pearly shine and it didn't want to photograph well. If you've got better pictures, Beth, please post them.

First, is a cute little girl reading a book. The background looks a lot like my living room!! The second is a book ninja piece. OMG. Too too funny and perfect. Seriously- now I need a ninja outfit... This is the top-left corner of my puzzle, so it'll be the first piece you look at... What a great start!

Glad you like them.   I had a feeling from the size of your book list that you house had a large collection of overfull bookshelves.

I was originally going to do an owl reading a ninja book.   In my searches for ninja books I came across http://www.zazzle.com/book_ninja_tshirt-235692640656857817 and decided that was 10 times better.

10  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Altered Puzzle Swap Round 2 (Signups: CLOSED; Send: 11/9 & 12/15) on: November 16, 2009 07:05:31 AM
I would go with what I've got like people are suggesting, but I really don't see how it could work. They sent me 12 teeny (postcard size) separate puzzles, instead of three big ones. I could glue pieces together I suppose. Thinking about it, if I glue the edge pieces to the other edge pieces, then the puzzle will still look just as random because you won't see the straight bits. Hmm. I think I might have to do some experimenting.

I sent out chunks because my pieces are small.  I figured it was just as mean to send something that needed a tweezers and a magnifier glass to work on,  as sending someone the whole puzzle.
