141  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: 'The Office' Swap-Round 5! GALLERY on: March 31, 2011 03:03:39 PM
The second photo is a set of magnetic poetry but with all kinds of important Office words (i.e. narddog, beets, mung beans, False., etc). There are character magnets too and a magnet board for all of them to be on. The 'notecards' you see are actually some blank magnets in case I forgot some good words.

And the glasses are etched.

About 30 seconds from finished crafting...then I want to pick up one more thing tomorrow and get it all packaged. I'm thinking I'll probably send on Friday.

Almost done with everything! I just have to get one more thing assembled which I can hopefully squeeze in this week sometime.

Since my partner answered these, I will too in case it helps Smiley

1)  Do you cook? Rarely--I like to but I work in a kitchen so I just don't feel like it most days. If so, do you use recipies? I am terrible at recipes.  Do you own a George Forman grill? I do. Do you use it? Only if I feel like cleaning it when I'm done.

2)  Do you like to snack? Too much.  If so, what are your favorite types/kinds of snack foods? Prefer salty to sweet

3)  Do you work in an office? I did and I will again, but right now I am hanging out in a kitchen while looking for my new legal career.

4)  Do you have any children? Nope.  Especially an infant or young toddler?

5)  Do you work as an accountant, a receptionist, a salesman/saleswoman, manager, assistant to the regional manager   (hee-hee), human resources, customer services? No, none of those.

6)  Are you engaged? Yes! just this past New Years Eve. Recently married? Nope.

7)  Do you have a garden? I can't keep anything alive but a cactus. Or a farm?  Nope.

Do you like to dance? Love to.

9)  Do you drink coffee/tea? Only iced coffee and iced tea.

10)  Do you go out to eat? Occasionally. If so, where/what is your favorite type of food? Not sure--depends on what I'm feeling and who I'm with.

Just sent my answers. I finally finished all of my studying/testing so I've got some free time for a swap again. Smiley
146  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Akira on: December 16, 2010 12:49:34 PM
I got my boss for Secret Santa at work this year which can be tricky sometimes, but I decided to paint one of her dogs and I'm so so happy with her reaction. She has 3 dogs and 2 cats--I think--but Akira is the one she always says she would marry if he wasn't a dog. Anyway, I used a picture from her office to paint from and the picture was a little goofy but I think the dog is too so it works. Just wanted to share this--

147  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Dog Painting and Some XMas Cards on: December 15, 2010 07:57:30 PM
I love the dog painting and I wouldn't even know you'd only just started acrylics. About it feeling unfinished--it may be that the shading in the head is more subtle than the shading in the ear and so it almost looks solid by contrast (of course that could be the computer ?). Just a thought, but by all means I love it just the way it is and would be happy to hang such a painting! The pink and blue are great together. Smiley
148  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / first rag quilt on: November 18, 2010 07:00:51 PM
Hope this goes here--I used my cousin's new baby as an excuse to try a flannel rag quilt. It only took about two hours and I'm pretty happy with it. The color is more accurate in the second picture:

This is beautiful. I paint a lot of dogs and I use acrylic as well so it's neat to see how different the texture of your painting is from all of mine. You get a very smooth look out of acrylic which I like a lot. Also love the colors and background too!

I just got back into town yesterday to a wonderful package from Tygir:

I love everything so much! She did a woodburning of my dog Patch and also embroidered her name and picture both of which are beautifully made. I just can't decide where to hang them...I need the perfect place for these. Here are close-ups:

She sent me this adorable wallet with strawberry print which she filled with teas I can't wait to try:

Annd she sent me some authentic Maine seashells eager to be turned into jewelry (they're in the first picture) and Lobster Dog Treats!! I would never have imagined these existed but I think they're so cool. We'll have to share these with my parents' dog and my boyfriend's dog too.

Tygir, this package was awesome--thank you again!!
